Hi folks, My LLMD is recommending that I try IV clindamycin for various reasons- where do you get it and how much does it cost if you don't have insurance? what dosage are you on?

Hi Maria, I was on IV Clinda for a couple months and I got it directly from my LLMD's office.
I had to pay out of pocket and cannot remember the cost. I am trying to look back at old receipts.
There is a company where I get my IV Glutathione that will supply it and their costs are very reasonable. I don't know if I am allowed to write the name here but if you would like the name just let me know!
Sorry, wish I was more help...

Maria, I was actually going to recommend Infuserve. Clindamycin is one of the cheaper IV meds I believe, so Infuserve should have pretty good prices.
I just finished IV Clindamycin, 900 mg 2x/day, on Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're taking it for babs, consider pairing with IV zithromax...Really packs a punch along with Mepron, art, etc.

Thanks to both of you. Did you have a PICC line or infuse it 'peripherally', and what exactly does that mean, anyway- is there a line hanging out of your arm all the time or do you just get a needle inserted for the duration of the infusion on the days that you're infusing?

I hope you like IV clindamycin as mush as I do! 1200 mg. day, all at once.
No picc line here, just a butterfly everyday that is taken out. If you know a nurse or someone that could insert the butterfly needle, this is by far the easiest for me.
You can also have a hep line inserted (a needle that stays in), which is taken out every three or four days. You have to flush with saline and heparin.

I would not do Clindamycin, it is the # 1 risk offender for contracting c.difficile and destroying your colon. There are other choices! Clindamycin is an outdated b abesia protocol, Mepron + IV Zithromax and artemesia is more potent.
