Can you describe the pain? Can you tell me if this sounds familiar?

Sorry to be graphic, but - I have had mostly abdominal cramping along with the liquid diarrhea.

Now that I've been on vancomycin, the diarrhea is gone, but I'm still having abdominal cramping.

It feels a bit like my body is attempting to digest a brillo pad.

But that pain now has migrated to the lower back, on both sides of the spine, and it's extending down both legs.

The lower back part, extending down the legs - that's new to me.

I'm not sure if it's C Diff, or possibly muscular (from my entire body tensing up so much), kidney related or something else.

I did put a non-emergency call in to the doc's office, and hope to hear back within the next day or so.

But if you have any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing them.

Thanks from C Diff land,
cactus (feeling like I have a cactus in my belly at the moment)

Your welcome, it IS a wonderful place!

Read the studies from Dr.Borody, they are amazing. We dont have that kind of treatment yet here in AMerica but you can do it at home.

If anyone wants the instructions just let me know!

C diff can cause a lot of problems. My excellent LLMd says it can make you feel like "crap: No pun intended!

I had bad joint pain with my c diff. It sounds like the vancomycin is not taking care of both toxins. This happened to me. I would add another abx to the vancomycin. I added rifampin and it did the trick.
