I know sugar cravings can be a product of a herx reaction. So that's a good sign right?

Tonight I had the worst sugar cravings of my entire life, shortly after starting some new Babesia herbs.

I mean, it was like my hands were detached from my body and involuntarily shoveling candy into my mouth while I watched helplessly :-) Funny, but I'm not kidding, that's what it felt like.

Any tips on self control?

And/or explanation for this behavior?

Thanks.

EDIT: By the way, 9 out of 10 times I feel a lot worse after binging, but rarely, I actually feel much BETTER. Like my brain needed the sugar to kick start... !!??

I did a step-down, meaning I didn't have sugar sugar, but fruit sugar, as in sweet fruits for about a week, then weaned off of them to veg and lean meat. I found that my severe sugar cravings subsided in 10 days.

It helps to have some noncandida food ready to snack on and eat. If you look at noncandida food lists and get the food ready, you'll be better able to handle the munchies.

I'm not sure about the connection to babesia meds, but usually, we're feeding a yeast/fungal condition - it wants sugar and will rob a bank for it!

I have also found that healthy fats sometimes cure it instead--especially almonds.

Where did you hear that? [confused]

Sugar cravings are almost ALWAYS a symptom of YEAST in the gut.

NOT a good sign. Perhaps your new meds pushed you over the edge.

Herx reactions create an acidic condition, and acidic conditions lead to sugar cravings. Based on a lot of people / docs I've talked to. Not just yeast.

Candida can cause intense cravings.

But so can magnesium deficiency, big time.

Magnesium & Fish Oil can help decrease craving for sugar.

You need to have GOOD FATS in your diet with each meal and snack, otherwise you will crave more foods that are not all that good for you.

NUTS of all kinds. There are at least 80 varieties. Get to know most of them if you can.

This can also help stop cravings. Very effective for me:

I have always been a sugar addict... way before candida.

It is very difficult for me to stop eating sweets completely. If you put a box of cookies in front of me I will probably eat the entire box. I agree with Keebler that healthy fats help.

It comes down to - do I want to get well or do I want to eat sweets. Its a matter of discipline.

TF is our shining example of what can happen when you don't eat any sweets and drink lemon water all day.

Hypoglycemia may be caused by adrenal insufficiency. It may be remedied by heavy metal chelation.
