I have chronic lyme but had found a tick on me about 3 weeks ago.

I felt really lousy (more than usual) and noticed a swelling in my right lower groin area.

Went to the infectious disease doctor(not LLMD) but very nice and she put me on Amoxicillin.

When she saw the swelling she said it was a lymph node. However, my entire right hip area hurts and is very sensitive to the touch.

This is also where the tick bit me.

Is it possible that this is all from the tick or could I have a hernia also?

I am very thin so lymph nodes are usually quite pronounced down there.

I am bothered by the soreness of that whole area.

I need opinions!!!!

I don't know. I usually get pain in my hip as one of my Lyme symptoms.

Maybe it is part of the Lyme.

Up for more help.

Hugs,

Geneal

A lymph node (pronounced /ˈlɪmf.noʊd/) is a small circular ball shape organ of the immune system, distributed widely throughout the body and linked by lymphatic vessels. Lymph nodes are garrisons of B, T, and other immune cells. Lymph nodes are found all through the body, and act as filters or traps for foreign particles. They are important in the proper functioning of the immune system.

Lymph nodes also have clinical significance. They become inflamed or enlarged in various conditions, which may range from trivial, such as a throat infection, to life-threatening such as cancers. In the latter, the condition of lymph nodes is so significant that it is used for cancer staging, which decides the treatment to be employed, and for determining the prognosis.

Lymph nodes can also be diagnosed by biopsy whenever they are inflamed. Certain diseases affect lymph nodes with characteristic consistency and location.
