When it happened to me, which was many times, I usually always had some type of warning sign and that was usually twitching.
I would feel this twitching start on the side of my face or near the eyes and sometimes maybe a little tingling, then the side of my face would start to scrunch and finally drop and freeze.
The first time it happen, I was so scared and upset. Luckily, none ever stayed permanent and I haven't had one in years.
It is a really scary experience, especially the first one. Very frustrating too as you would never know when it could happen, so if you in a crowd or in a meeting at work, it can be a bit dreadful!

I had facial drooping which is a mild bilateral bells palsy.
I had no warning. It was mild, so it just felt like gravity was pulling my face down. I looked like I was scowling if I was not smiling--deep lines on either side of mouth.
This went on for 3 1/2 years. Then, one day, I woke up and it was gone! Just like that.
This all happened before I got my lyme diagnosis. It was only in looking back that I figured out what all this was. At the time, I thought my skin was just sagging and that's why some people had to get face lifts. I considered getting one.

I would say I woke up with it.
And, I woke up and it was gone--3 1/2 years later.

Mine would last anywhere from a few minutes to around 10 minutes or a little longer, best as I can remember.

Mine happened similarly to TF's - like gravity is pulling my face down. In the mirror, my face looked funny to me - eyes drooped a little, cheeks looked more jowl-y, mouth seemed to frown, etc. It wasn't until I read the Lyme & co symptom list that I realized it was Bell's palsy. At the time, my throat felt like a scarf was being pulled too tight; my ears ring loudly and sometimes there is inner ear pain; glands near the jaw hinge felt swollen. I don't know whether it happened overnight or if it was over weeks - so many things were going haywire at the time.
The only time I ever met anyone who had BP, their face severely dropped only one side so that was my only concept of it. I wish I could go back and tell that person to look into Lyme.
I'm afraid to say that after 2 1/2 years, it's still here. I'm hoping it just goes away one day, like it did with TF.
What's been happening that made you ask about it? Do you have something that seems like a prelude?

I just wondered if there was any warning signs.....I used to get strange sensations in my cheek, discomfort sometimes odd skin sensation and it seemed to go over time then i started flagyl last week and its back.......it was just on my mind that is this a warning of something or just part of the whole Lyme and Co package.......
I did search it on here and from what I have read it seems it can appear anywhere before treatment or during.......was wondering if the flagyl was releasing cysts and it was affecting the nerves in my face........
