I think drinking Kefir is a good start. I take two probiotics as well. One is ProMax; the other is Probifia.
I think I prefer the probifia because you don't have to refrigerate. I'm going to stop the ones you have to keep cool because I have concerns about those and if you can buy shelf-stable ones, then why bother with the others.
I heard Jarrow is supposed to be a good brand by a women who ran a health store.

Kefir....wish I liked it, but it literally gags me.I just can't see how anyone could like that taste. Have a hard enough time with plain yogurt.
I tried putting all kinds of things in the blender with Kefir, just couldn't get past that taste. Yuck!!!!

I added Stevia to it and it was the sweetest/greatest thing my tongue has seen in a year! haha
I guess that happens when you go on a strict diet excluding all sugars, etc...
You acquire a taste for anything sweet.
I used to love yogurt in milk... so maybe that's why I enjoy the kefir so much.

canefan, I'm talking about keifer and yogurt. Plain is fine, but once you get into flavored you're normally getting high sugar stuff--unless they use the artificial sweetener.

First off... artificial sweeteners are crap. Pure crapola
Second off... do you mean store-bought kefir?
Because homemade kefir is generally ok for people because the kefir grains eat up the sugars/carbs from the milk

I agree about the artificial stuff-don't use it.
Keifer in the store is what I'm talking about. The flavored stuff is full of sugar. Next time you're in the grocery store, or health food store, look at the sugar content of that stuff. It's pretty high, but the plain keifer and yogurt are fine.
We pretty much stick with Stonyfield Organic plain yogurt. I have a hard time getting the keifer down, but if you want to make me some and ship it to me, I'll be happy to try it. Never had the homemade kind before, but everyone says it's nothing like the store bought stuff.
