I emailed with some people doing Gerson therapy. I think it is totally legit. and that people can have remarkable recoveries from serious illnesses. It's very very labor-intensive though, which is why I haven't done it.

I have also thought of doing gerson, and have been doing some things like juicing, etc... but not to the extent that gerson does...

No the ones I emailed with did not have Lyme disease but intractable cancers and they had amazing results with Gerson.

If you go to the Gerson website I think there are ways there to get connected with people who have different illnesses and have tried it.

I can see that this is something that would be really helpful. One problem is that it's expensive.

They say they use 20 lbs a day of produce - I would assume organic. They also require a special juicer that costs around $2000...

I'm starting to see that this type of thing could help alot with detox issues. I'm going to attempt to do something like this at home with what I have available to me.

If you could do the whole Gerson protocol - I'm sure it would help in combination with Rife, infrared light, or herbs. It seem to defeat the concept to do this with abx... Just my opinion.

You also have to do four coffee enemas a day.

But, our neurologist said he had a girl with MS do it for two years. She had to quit her job just to do the diet properly.

He considers her "cured".

There was a lady that lived in our town for a few years. She was elderly and has since died, but years ago her son had cancer and the drs had given up on him.

She discovered gerson and went to him and followed the protocol. Last I heard, her son is still alive.

One of my daughters had early stages of cervical cancer twice and I got the book and got her to start doing some of the things listed. Raw organic, foods and juices, and she has won twice and is now about to have a baby..

There was also medical intervention but she is also convinced that a better diet was a major player. We never did the enemas but she did do a couple of cleanses. lmt

That's great - - -

In a life or death situation, doing the whole full protocol is probably a good idea.

If we can just incorporate some of it - it would probably be a great help to many of us.

I wasn't too fond of the coffee enema... I tried it a couple of times & it's not all that fun. I've heard you get used to it after a while...

These websites have alot of info-

Yes!!

Yes!!

Dr. C in Missouri recommended it to me.

The coffee enemas help me.

The juices help me.

The enzymes have helped me more than anything.

It works. I only wish I could do it 100%, all out. I'm trying to save money for it

The diet does work, its theory is based on trying to displace too much sodium in our cells with potassium. This is suppose to re-energize our cells to full function. I suspect, Dr Gerson hadn't worked with an LED. Which can add a new dimension into healing, IMO.

I did a version of it for 3 weeks, I don't have a juicer, but instead incorporated a very high potassium diet. I didn't do all the enemas either, just not enough time and I'm still very functional. So I would occasionally do some of them. But I only did it for about 3 weeks, but instead of juicing I bought carrot juice and applejuice and green juice from the health food store. I didn't feel I needed any more then that.

I think you can skip the enemas all together if you use coffee extract into a suppository. The coffee is suppose to go into the sigmoid colon which has some connection to the liver where the coffee is stimulate it. It appears coffee has compounds that do this. The suppositories work as well and we may find out even better then the enema.

If your particularly toxic add glutathione powder to it. You can get 50 grams for about 40 dollars.

I get a cable channel called varia (www.varia.com). They have a show called the incurables, and there was a gentlemen, forgot his name, he used the gerson diet and was able to become cancer free in one year.

You can read about Dr. Lorraine Day in the following link:

I recommend taking:

Multizyme and Zymex II from Standard Process (found on Amazon. These things are potent! I really herx from them)

Lyso-Lyph-Forte from Nutriwest

All of them contain lots of great digestive enzymes good for killing Lyme, yeast, and microbial junk in the body

Bob- do you make the coffee suppositories yourself? I've seen ones with glutathione & EDTA -

Ingredients: Organic coffee extract 200 mg, glutathione 200 mg, Magnesium Di-Potassium EDTA 50 mg, cocoa butter.

They are about $90... I don't know if I need the EDTA right now since I still have fillings. Isn't that a chelator? It would be alot easier than doing the enema...

Interesting about the TV channel. Never heard of it before. I don't have cable here at this time. I'm not sure if I miss it.

Can that be calcium EDTA?

Would the coffee suppositories potentially cause more of a reacion to the caffeine since it is not being washed out?

Sparkle -- I made the glutathione suppositories myself and they worked extremely well. I didn't use the coffee extract at the time. From you post I did find something that might look promising to add to the suppository. Check out the following link:

http://www.escofoods.com/coffee.extract.html

I suppose you could create your own extract. Not sure how! I suspect it is making the coffee and just letting the water evaporate until it is very thick and then using it in the suppository. You would want as thick as a syrup. And only use about a 1/4 teaspoon in the suppository. Of course using organic coffee would be best.

Honestly, I use a 50$ hamilton beach wide mouth juicer from walk-mart and I LOVE it... works great and has done me wonders. There really is no need for an expensive juicer, unless you want to make almond milks, wheat grasses etc...

Can you explain how you made the glutathione suppositories? I would like to make some with glutathione but also with EDTA as I have found EDTA suppositories useful.

I also tried the coffee extract suppositories though, and I don't personally think they are nearly as effective as coffee enemas -- sorry. The coffee enemas are an essential part of the Gerson program and omitting them doesn't really make sense.

I think it takes numerous coffee enemas before they start to feel good. The first ones I did I felt buzzed, then super toxic, then just awful. But then I began to see why they're so great, as they just instantly could make me feel less toxic.

It is also imperative to do them exactly as Gerson recommends. Don't just start experimenting with coffee until you read the instructions. And of course always use only organic coffee and pure distilled water otherwise you're creating more problems.

I have also read that people can react to metal begin used to meat/make the coffee, so I personally bought a glass coffee pot (20 bucks or so) and I use that to make the coffee on the stove, then strain it into another glass container so it's never sitting in metal (I do use a metal strainer though).

The coffee extracts aren't organic.

Please explain more about how to make the suppositories, Bob...

How about using a coffee maker to make the coffee? Mine has plastic parts - which is worse? Plastic or metal?

I agree 100% about the coffee enema issues... the Gerson diet is very clear on how to prepare them.

I never use a coffee maker to make the coffee - just use the recipe in the book and it's as easy as pie

The most important thing with the Gerson Therapy is the juicing. It is a wonderful program (I feel it is the best there is) but it is awfully expensive and hard to work with alone.

The Norwalk is the juicer that they recommend and it is like a high tech machine. We bought one and could never use it without making a mess (ceiling and all!)

Other juicers heat up too quickly and you loose the enzymes from the vegetables I think that if you are considering doing this with lyme........it would be fine to use another juicer. But it cancer is part of the picture than it needs to be done the right way!

Wouldn't it be great if they had juicing centers with this Norwalk juicer all over like they have Starbuck$....?

Just a fantasy of mine. Maybe Starbuck$ could expand into coffee enema supplies? LOL

I hate to be a party pooper, but Max Gerson died in 1959 at the age of 78. It said he had cancer, but the official cause of death was listed as pneumonia.

So, probably the pneumonia would be secondary to the cancer. I have juiced on an off for yrs, sometimes for long periods of time.

I have done an intense macrobiotic diet when I first collapsed back in the early 80's. I spent 2 months in a Natural Health Clinic and had all organic food, juice, colonics, massage etc.

It made no difference as far as getting rid of these infections. About 7 yrs ago, I went into a 2 mos meditation, did juicing, alkalizing, herbs, reiki, chakra balancing etc.

This was after I was on 4yrs of antibiotics including 6 mos IV Rocephin and 2 yrs of IVIG. I am a firm believer in Natural Healing.

But it wasn't until I started the salt/c protocol 3yrs ago did I start to get rid of these infections. I am almost symptom free.

It doesn't matter to me what works as long as it works, I am just a little bit thrown when they talk about too much sodium in our cells.

We are 75% saline, a composition very close to sea salt.

Gael

Gerson may have died younger if he wasn't juicing... I'm just guessing here. I don't know anything about him.

I agree that this isn't the cure for Lyme & company. I tried all of this stuff when I thought I had Fibromyalgia & it didn't make much of a difference.

Iit's helpful for detoxification. I think you need something else to kill the pathogens. I'm not very big on abx but there are other ways. Salt/C may be good for some.

I'm still doing the Cowden protocol & I may go back to trying the infrared light or Rife at some point. I think that the detox methods with juicing & coffee enemas may be helpful to incorporate into the whole scheme of things.

I agree with Sparkle, the protocol is about detoxification and resetting the body chemistry for increase in potassium. Potassium is what happens when the bugs try to control our bodies. Once you've detoxed sufficiently then using LEDs and killers become far more efficacious.

As far as coffee, I think the best way is to extract the coffee your self. Maybe someone could look for a recipe. I've been doing coffee enemas of late. Along with the hulda clark cleanse in combination. I support the rebuilding of my liver with lots of dandelion green pestos in my diet.

So, the most important organ in our bodies for detox is the liver. I think the liver is something to continue to work on while you are trying to kill lyme & co.

By improving the live, it takes a lot of pressure from the prostate and kidneys. And at the same time improves the endocrine system.

What is dandelion green pestos? Where can i find them in the grocery store?

Do you have any other ways to support the detoxification of the liver?

Thanks!

Coffee enemas are the best way that I have found to support my liver and gallbladder. I do them daily, and they help me feel so very much better! My pain in my liver area goes away, and my detoxing is greatly helped. They even help my headaches, which is great

I have been following a guy who has Lyme and doing the Gerson's therapy for over a year. He is not healed.
I don't really read his blog now since he started drinking his own urine but if you wanted to check it out I think you could search and find his blog.

I have fresh juice daily and do coffee enemas several times a week, so a modified Gerson, and definitely think it's one of the most helpful things I have tried -- but I'm far from well.

Gerson therapy done right means buying a super expensive juicer though, which I don't have, and doing it all many more times daily than I'm doing. Even with that, it takes 2 years to turn most conditions around (doing full-fledged Gerson, juicing like 13 times a day with coffee enemas like five times a day -- these numbers could be wrong), so it's really intensive for those who seem to have the best results.

My liver enzymes were high initially from Rifampin and wouldn't come down for a long time, didn't think I'd be able to continue, but coffee enemas keep my liver enzymes in perfect range.

I have seen on 3 different websites that you should NOT do coffee enemas if you are sensitive to caffeine. Is this true?

I am extremely sensitive to caffeine. It gives me heart flutters. My doc recommended coffee enemas but after what I read I think it probably would be a bad idea for me.
