Just started taking doxy and will be adding rifampin and nystatin soon.
LLMD wants me to take three probiotics 2-3 times a day. Do you think this is overkill?
What sources do you recommend I purchase these probiotics from?
Thank you!

You'll know it's overkill if you get diarrhea!
I don't think this is overkill. You'll be miserable (and may have a hard time going back on antibiotics) if you get a Clostridium or Candida overgrowth.
There are many great online vitamin sites - iherb, vitaminshoppe, vitacost, even Amazon. Quality will vary.
I think you have to buy Theralac directly from the company. www.theralac.com
Sixgoofykids: did you take them all at the same time or did you space the sachromyces away from the others as Luaralyme is suggesting?
Boxermom: I bought the theralac from my llmd but I was wondering if there was a cheaper source. Do you think it will be cheaper buying it directly from the company?
Anyone?

I love theralac. I take it with Trufiber (designed to go with it.) What is ultra flora and sachromyces?

I take four every day as per my LLMD, and add VSL when I need it on top of those. LLMD recommends MegaFlora, Therelac, S. Boulardi and Florastor. I have not found a cheaper source of Therelac but have not tried directly from the manufacturer.

That is a good amount, not overkill.
Sacc. boulardi and probiotics are totally fine taken together, you do not have to space them out whatsoever.
It is the sacc. boulardii(Florastor) taken with anti-fungals like Nystatin and Diflucan that you should not mix because they will just kill off the beneficial fungus.

I take all 3 of those 2x a day. I couldn't find Theralac any cheaper than I got from my LD. I don't know what you're paying, but when I checked a year ago, it was $39.95 from the company.

You may get a discount if you order in quantity directly from Theralac.

Thank you all for your posts. I guess I'm on the right track taking three.
BoxerMom: I will call the company and see if they would give me a discount if I order in bulk. These things are so expensive!

JJ29, it's five dollars cheaper to buy it from Amazon, but not sure how it will turn out with shipping charges.

You're right Gary, it may be a wash if the shipping charges turn out to be about five dollars. I'll check it out, thanks.
