Bartonella can cause mesenteric adenitis which mimics appendicitis or diverticulitis. This cost me $3,000.00 for CT scan last December. No appy but did find some kidney stones:(

Randi,
it can be part of lyme and coinfections but also parasites or chlamydia can cause bowel problems.
If it is acute you need the ER. Bowels can rupture.I am worried about your nausea.
For the future you need to figure out a longterm idea that it is not coming so often. Never constipation! I know it is always coming again in 6 weeks what looked for me sometimes like malaria/babesia related. If I took bryonia 30 c my bowels moved and that helped. Are you on antibiotics at the moment?
I am so sorry you have such a difficult time.

Dear Randibear, Ouch! So sorry you're in pain again...
Have you left a message for your LLMD?
Could some of these symptoms be related to your biaxin?
Have you tried: - Frequent hot water bottles (20 min on, 20 min off, repeat)? - Keep drinking water and healing herbal teas. Try "Chocolate Smooth Move" tea by Traditional Medicinals?
How long have you been constipated? Just one day (not that one day can't be painful!) or several days?
I had horrible abdominal pain a few weeks ago, but the urgent CT scan only got me radiation & an exhausting follow-up appt with an arrogant duck. ymmv.
Bartonella may cause similar symptoms, but I'm not a healthcare professional. You know your health history and current pain situation best.
Don't risk a bowel rupture if you really need to see a doctor. Listen to the wisdom of your own body, and then take appropriate action.
