i have balance problems as well... i hate carrying anything, because it makes me feel like i'm going to fall over!

- Get a cool cane to help with balance and to help prevent falling. Always wear sturdy shoes (women, avoid heals or shoes that can fall off of your feet if you trip - or shoes that you can fall off of !)
Also ask your LLMD for advice on if you should see a ear specialist and who that might be who is lyme literate. Sometime vestibular rehabilitation helps after you've treated a while for the infections.
Liver support is also important to your inner ear. More below about all that.
If you have prescription distance eye glasses, get prescription sunglasses, polaroid so as to block out certain rays of the sun.
In a store, a visor will help more than sunglasses but, again, polaroid can be best. If you don't need prescriptions, still go to an optician for a good pair of polaroids. You'll want a pair that will last for a long time. Cheap sunglasses can make dizziness and vertigo worse if the lenses are not perfectly formed.
It's really best to totally stay out of large stores like Shop-Rite. One trip there will cost you about two week's of your life. Seriously.
Get others to shop for you, order on line, or whatever it takes to avoid large stores. It's not just the lights, but the noise and the chemicals in the air from all the scented products, the petroleum fumes from the plastics and the formaldehyde coatings on textiles.
Those fumes are hard on the liver and on the brain but the whole sensory overload is hard on the ears, brain and adrenals. Not worth it.
