On my pelvis region (what ever it is called) like 4" down from my belly button and 6" to the right a bump (I beleive lymph node) is visibly enlarged and the one on the left is not. I am skinny and such things poke out....
why is this? should I be concerned... it has been like this for a while but I haven't been keeping track..
when I run my finger over it it can easily be felt moving around below the skin..
thanks. also ID doc noted nodes in neck were (are) slightly enlarged.

palpable lymph nodes in the groin are fairly common. lots of things can cause a node to swell... infection, a scratch or bite near the node, a pimple, etc.
how big is it? if it is movable and not fixed that's always considered a good sign.
had your doc seen it? doctors are pretty good at knowing when a lymph node is just a benign reactive node and when it's something that needs to be investigated. anything over 1 cm should be seen by a doctor but even the really big ones usually turn out to be harmless.
sometimes once a node becomes enlarged it can stay that way for a long time -- even permanently. i have a few nodes that have been slightly enlarged for years.
i would have it looked at if you haven't already, just to be safe, but i doubt it's anything serious.

I have a lump on the side of my neck that I have been told is a swollen lymph gland as well. She says since it's soft and moveable that is a good sign. I understand it is because the lymph system become overloaded with the bacteria that is dying off.

I have 2 or 3 nodes in my neck -- one feels like a double-node -- and they have been 1-2 cm in size for years.
When I was going through the whole "what is wrong with me?" routine, I had a hematologist order a PET scan for the nodes in my neck instead of surgerically removing them.
The test came back clean and just another part of my body that normal docs consider idiopathic.
Still, any node larger than 1 cm, as lajamur states, should at least be examined. I agree that nodes in the groin area are palpable and definitely stick out more on thin people.

I had swollen lymph nodes about 5 months ago, before knowing I had Lyme. It started with 1 in my next with tenderness. They gave me antibiotics and did some blood work (but not a Lyme test, ggrrrr) I got really sick about 5 days into the antibiotics. I slept 20 hours a day and all my lymph nodes swelled up. (Hmm, in retrospect, that should have been a Lyme flag-herxing maybe). I stopped taking the second antibiotic and the swollen lymph nodes and exhaustion eased up. Now I only sleep 16 hours a day, lol.
