Anyone familiar with this?
"ScienceDaily (June 20, 2010) -- Researchers from the National Institutes of Health have developed a more sensitive test for Lyme disease that may offer earlier detection and lower cost. The details are reported in the June 2010 issue of the journal Clinical and Vaccine Immunology....."

What if your symptoms are all neurological? I don't have any joint pain except my spine.

I suppose if you do not have an inflamed joint, the test may not work.
They did stress that it had to be an inflamed joint.

This test is only for people who were just infected. So in other words if you a tick bite you, or you still have the bulls eye rash etc. This won't work for people who have been infected longer than that initial period of a few weeks or a month or whatever the time is.

How many times have we been told about a wonderful new test that turned out not to be any better.
This is an antibody test, and since many chronic lyme cases are seronegative, this will not help. Antibodies are specific. If the test does not look for all the strains, it will fail many people. If the patient is no longer making antibodies, it will fail.
This test came out of the NIH, which so far has absolutely been on the wrong side. NIAID, the infectious disease institute, is a dead loss when it comes to lyme disease.
