Is it possible to get a NEGitive result from your Dr. when looking at these two tests and they don't meet the CDC critera?
Would a Dr. give you a NEG if your Elisa test was (IND)?
Would He say your Western Blot is (Neg) because you don't have 5 positive Bands?
dont have the actual lab report, just going on verbal report from someone in the office. They just told my Hubby that everything is NORMAL.
I told him to ask for the DR, and question if Elisa was NEG or IND? and If any bands were reactive on WB?

I would call the office and tell them you are coming over to collect a copy of your labs........and go get them as soon as you can to ease your mind.......

They will tell you a positive is false. A negative test result absolutely accurate. All bands positive with a bullseye rash and positive spinal tap would be lab error and therefore again false. In other words, you're playing against the house in Vegas and can't win.

Hi Jenn. As Florence said, it is your right, and in this case, need, to call and request a FULL copy of your lab results.
They may ask for a nominal copying fee - that is legal. Then go get the copies, or have them mailed to you if necessary.
With your lab results in hand you can understand much more about what they mean and don't mean, with a little research on your part - we can help point you in some helpful directions for that research.
Unfortunately, a Doctor in most cases is not going to understand these tests. Not only that, but they have been misinformed or have misunderstood Lyme testing and its usefulness in diagnosing Lyme.
According to the CDC, Lyme testing is NOT TO BE USED for ruling out a Lyme diagnosis. Because of their high false-negative results, as proven in several studies, Lyme tests are only useful when they confirm a positive clinical diagnosis.
Negative results are useless, and do not mean you don't have Lyme disease. The state of medicine, as it relates to Lyme disease right now, is that you must find a physician who is highly experienced with tick-borne diseases and Lyme disease in particular, so that they can make an educated clinical diagnosis. This is the CDC's own recommendation: Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. Meaning NOT based on a test.
For more information, please see the link to Dr. C's Explanation of Western Blot tests in my signature.
Also, this link might help you understand what your Doctor is misunderstanding:

Yes, they would .. if they're not an LLMD!! They don't WANT to diagnose you with Lyme. Then they would have to TREAT you.
Get a copy of that test ASAP! It's your right.
