I have looked up old posts on this so I do have some information.

Apparently my urine culture came back positive. My doc put me on Macrobid. I got instant yeast on this and it's rough on the stomach.

Has anyone used this for UTI? Did it solve the problem?

If it's not hitting anything Lyme related and I'm not having discomfort (UTI discomfort), I'm having a tough time adding another medicine.

Try some D-mannose! It works really fast and is very effective against bladder infections.

I have had the runs all day. There is no way I can continue this stuff. I'm hoping the doc has another alternative.

I'll try the D-Mannose. Thank you.

That is what I am usually given for UTIs. Take with a full meal and drink cranberry juice. That helps with the UTI.

I take D-Mannose with Cranactin. I was getting UTI's about every 2 months before finding this stuff.

I now take only ONE pill per day and I haven't had an infection in the past year+.

Get some at the health food store and take the recommended dosage on the bottle. Then continue taking one or 2 pills per day for prevention.

The Macrobid worked well for my UTI. D-mannose did not work for me.

After it cleared up, I bought over-the-counter AZO cranberry pills and those seemed to prevent me from getting another one.

Sammy... that's why I mentioned the Mannose WITH Cranactin.. you have to have the cranberry to help prevent the infections.

My doctor suggested that or Vitamin C. But I can't tolerate the C.

Also with D-mannose the dose has to be taken every 2 hours for 24 hours in the beginning and then 6x a day the next day and one pill before and after sex. You have to drink a lot of water to flush out the infection. D-mannose is best when it is e.coli bacteria but can work with others like klebsiella as well.

Lymetoo, I can't take Vitamin C either.

I tried D-Mannose with the AZO tablets, but the Mannose did not work for me for whatever reason.
