I have been IV antibiotics for 8 weeks, and looks like I'm stopping now for a while, as the insurance has denied covering it at this point. Doctor can call them and maybe get it approved again, but don't know how long that will take.
Anyone been through this, how much of a setback will this be if it's a break of 3 days, or a week, or a couple weeks? Just wondering what to expect.

I was denied for my rocephin too. I got a hold of these folks and now it is somewhat affordable, under $25 a day. www.hometech-rx.com

My doctor and I have been trying to get my insurance to cover IV's for the past 14mo. Despite all of the medical evidence, letters from my congressman, and letters from my lawyer they continue to deny all claims for reimbursement.
Micheal, it might not be a good idea to put your treatment on hold. Continue with the IV's by paying out of pocket (through a company like Infuserve) or switch IM Bicillin LA and orals.
You must do something to keep the infections covered while you wait for the appeal to be reviewed by your insurance company. You may be waiting for a very long time and you don't want to lose the gains you've made so far.
Good luck
