Yes they can make you sleepy. You may also feel more tired than normal because your body is trying to deal with an acute infection and inflammation (from the diverticulitis).

My Invanz causes me to be sleepy after I take it, so I am sure others could have the same result.

I'm going to suggest that a consistent fatigue effect that occurs precisely one hour after you take an antibiotic, every time you take it, is not a herx but simply a side effect.
A herx follows a less predictable time course with variations of intensity. Consistent timing, and consistent intensity = side effect.

When I was on abx it made me very sleepy to the point where I couldn't drive or work. I use to tell the doctor I felt like I had just drunk a bottle of nyquil..it was terrible especially with doxy and zithro. I couldn't function at all on those two..
The doctor told me it was a side effect and not herxing...

I've found that my sleepiness varies with which abx protocol I'm on. Right now I'm on mepron and zith which make me SOOOOOOO sleepy, I feel like a zombie.

When I first started Biaxin, I got fatigue consistently that started 3 hours after I took it and ended about 4 hours later.
That stopped being noticeable after 2 or 3 weeks, so I decided it must have been herxing in rhythm with the peak levels in my blood, but I don't know.
I also had that kind of effect the first four days that I drank strong lemon water (fatigue starting an hour or two later and lasting for 3-4 hours), but I haven't had it that noticeably again.
