Dear Lyme Friends,
I have been busy with school and still suffering with health issues, so that is why I have not been on here as much. The issues with my menstrual cycle are continuing. There have been slight improvements in insomnia and migraines. However, the excruciating abdominal pain and heavy bleeding have debilitated me for several days at a time. During my period, I nearly fainted walking or
just standing up.

I have found a connection to why some foods tend to bother me after I eat them a few days in a row. According to certain websites, phytoestrogens are in various herbs and foods naturally. These irritate Estrogen Dominance. Nearly everything seems to have cottonseed, safflower, or sunflower oil. This explains a lot.
I think it builds in my system over a period of days if I eat the same thing too often. Spices such as cumin, cloves, turmeric, rosemary, thyme, basil, fennel and sage are in many foods.

My aunt just found out her uterus was enlarged. Testing was quite revealing. They found numerous fibroids in her uterus, then an ovarian cyst the size of a baseball! She has been suffering with perimenopause symptoms for a while.
Her doctor recommended a hysterectomy. I am afraid I may be next. I am debating on whether or not I want to try the bio-identical progesterone in pill form first. The cream seems to help a little bit, but discomfort is still unbearable.

My grandmother had a hysterectomy at 26 years-old on the other side of the family. On top of that, we recently learned that one of my cousins on that side was the same age when she had to have it done. Meanwhile, I am trying to get in touch with my cousin's ex-wife, since she can tell me how to obtain healthcare through the state. Maybe then my dental issues could at least be repaired. We are also trying to scrape enough money together so I can go to the eye doctor again.

Sincerely,
Jin

Food is really a difficult issue. I avoid probably 90% of what is sold in the supermarket. I try not to eat anything with the popular oils like canola or cottonseed, etc. I try to only eat olive oil, butter, or peanut oil. Oils are concentrated so it's good to try to get the organic varieties.

It's really tough to avoid everything that may increase estrogen since xenoestrogens are everywhere - plastic, pesticides, chemicals...

How about trying Chinese medicine? Chinese medicine seems to have some experience with women's issues. Try to find someone with experience, though. Maybe an older person/doctor...? I would try everything possible before any surgery.

Some people I've heard about do well after surgery but I would try to avoid it.

Herbs can be powerful. See if you can find someone with experience in treating women's issues. Maybe they can come up with a protocol. It takes a bit of time with herbs but it may be better than drugs. Maybe you could combine herbs with bio-identical hormones?

I would avoid the birth control pills. I don't think they are healthy. Also, get some good pain meds. Vicodin helps me alot with menstrual pain.

PS - Have you done any parasite cleanses? This may be helpful.
