Hey Guys,

I'm really having a tough time. I've always had the headaches and some brain fog.

I started Bactrim about a week ago at only 1/2 dose.

Since starting Bactrim, my headaches have gotten very bad. The scary part is that my memory is now failing big time. I can't remember anything. I also stumble for words.

I called my llmd who said to stop the bactrim for now. My anxiety is going crazy and I'm wondering if I have a brain tumor or something else.

Why is this new symptom with my memory starting now? I feel so sick.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with Bactrim. I think our bodies can react very differently to various drugs which is why there is no generic cure. Rifampin did not agree with me but Bactrim has helped. But when I first hit bartonella I herx very badly with increased symptoms. I had more depression, anxiety and pain in my shins. I also had some headaches and hot flashes. Gradually they faded away. If you start something else and have another increase in symptoms you are probably herxing. Maybe you could start at an even lower dose.

Sounds like it could be a herx. The bactrim hit me the first day I took it. Brain fog, derealization, etc. You may want to give it some time to see if you improve.

It has helped me.

Severe neurological problems. Probably sick for years. Became chronically sick in Aug 2007. Undiagnosed for another 15 months. Started treatment for lyme and bart Sept. 2008. Improving, but very slowly.
