Hi guys,
been doing pretty well except the last few days I have had severe Muscle cramps, belly cramps, nausea and diarrhea.
I am thinking it is some kind of virus as my kids have had the stomach thing. I am mostly concerned with the cramps.
They are all over my body. They hurt. I have a call into my pain doc to see if my muscle relaxers will help. I dont like taking them b/c they make sleepy.
This is the first time this has happened. I have had muscle spasms in my back before. hence the muscle relaxers.
I know this can happen with dehydration, but I think I am hydrated,
any advice or suggestions apprecitated.

Eat a banana, baked potato, or take some Potassium. The Big D and muscle cramps go hand in hand - your potassium is depleted.

I think you are right.
My pain care center said the same thing about electrolytes being whacky. I gotta call pcp see if he will add them on to my current lab order.

Easiest way to tell is go get a bottle of Gatorade. Yeah, yeah, sugar, blah blah blah. I know.
I've been in your shoes and a bottle of Gatorade was literally a life changer. Or alternatively a packet of electrolytes. I'm thinking it's just plain easier to grab a Gatorade at the convenience store. If that's what the problem is, you will feel a difference very quickly.

Coconut water is the replacement for Gatorade at all the health food stores. It is natural and has all the electrolytes needed. It is esp. recommended for a post-workout drink. I think it has 7 grams of sugar.

I had cramps with bartonella and when I started treatment they went away. I would have such severe cramps that it made me scream. They came in odd places like my back and hip joint and even the inside of my thighs, and buttocks. Of course I had a lot of them in my feet. For months I was using heating pads trying to get the spasms to quit. i went to a chiropractor and she found knots all over my back.
You should also be sure to take magnesium as it helps the muscles relax after contraction. Acetyl L Carnitine is great for your muscles, stamina and memory. I have a horse with a condition that causes cramping so bad he "ties up" and acetyl L carnitine eliminated it. Take 1 gram per one hundred pounds of body weight.
It is good to take it with alpha lipoic acid and often you can buy it together. Lipoic acid is a powerful detoxer and antioxidant.
A good source of fat with omega 3 will help also. Coconut oil is also very good.
