I am so weak I can barely move. If I get up to go to the bathroom or let the dogs out I break out in a horrific sweat. It started last Thursday.I have air conditioning so it's not that. I am living on ice packs. My stomach is raw I am currently taking a break from anbx for many months now so it's not that.I am inhaling Kefir and it's not working. I am confused and freaked out.
Any feedback?
Blessings,
justjan

Be sure those ice packs are on your arteries at the side of your neck, your wrist, etc. Cooling the arteries helps cool the blood going to your brain.

I'm so sorry you are suffering!

Without knowing your history, it's hard to tell what might be going on. Are you under the care of an LLMD? If so, please contact them and see if they can help.

If the sweating is not caused by heat (because your house is cool due to air conditioning), then it could be babesia or lyme or something else. The weakness could also be babesia, lyme, adrenal issues or something else. Are you taking anything to keep lyme and co-infections under control while you are on your abx break?

You say the kefir is not working. Do you mean to heal your stomach? Kefir will help repopulate your gut with good bacteria but I'm not sure it will help with a raw stomach. Do you know why your stomach is raw?

If I were in your shoes, I'd be looking for help from my LLMD or a lyme literate Naturopathic doctor. Sounds like you need something to heal the gut and something to control infections while you are on abx break.

That said, I'm not a doctor and I don't know your history. Your best bet is to get to someone who can evaluate you and help get you in good enough condition to resume treatment.

My heart goes out to you. I know it's tough.

Best wishes,
Terry

sutherngrl - people up north aren't used to the heat like people in the south are... It's different.

It takes time to get used to it. If you grow up in a place where it's hot - your body has better coping mechanisms. People up north are go, go, go all of the time. They don't know how to slow down when it's hot.

I'm sure you would have a hard time up north in the winter when it's 10 degrees...

Just Jan-

I am also in the Hudson Valley, with no A/C except in the bedroom and my office and the heat's been killing me too.

Here is my trick for staying cool. I get a wash cloth and run it under cold water, then wring it out and pour astringent on it (Sea Breeze or Biore seem to work best), then I wrap it around my neck and use it too cool the skin.

I find it helps keep me cool for hours.

Hope this helps. Good luck at LLMD.

mbdq - that's a good one. Also, you can use a cotton bandana...

Sitting in the shower with cool water running helps. Or sitting in front of a fan. Don't sleep with a fan running directly on you. It can give you a neck or back ache. Point the fan away from you to circulate the air.

Make sure to drink plenty of water! Don't drink very cold or ice water/drinks if you are very hot. It can give you heat prostration.

Take it easy & take alot of breaks. Don't try to do too much. And stay out of the sun.... of course.

Heat is heat. It's not any easier on those who live in the heat all the time. Not much anyway!

I'm headed to Texas on Monday and sure don't look forward to the 100+ heat, but we'll make it!

Sure hope things cool down for you easterners.. !!

Hey there Marblenose!! Good to see you here! I hope your appointment with the LLMD will produce some good results for you!! [hi]

Ament to that one! I'm used to 100% humidity...no big deal. Maybe it'll save me from having to go to a sauna to detox!

I lived in NY/NJ most of my life. I just came down here about a year & a half ago... It's different. I spoke to a chiro down here & he said it takes about 3 summers to get used to it if you are from the north.

Weather over 99 is a rarity in NY vicinity - just like snow is here. It snows maybe once in 10 years where I am. It snowed last winter & people have no idea how to handle it. You should see how they drive... Best to be off of the road if it snows here!

Jan, I can't add much to all the above post EXCEPT what my LLMD told me when I complained to him. The hypothlamus sits on top of the ceribral cortex. It controls the whole endocrine system; including your "Core temperature." When I was really sick and suffering my body temp was ALWAYS in the mid 96s. My hypothlamus was lying to my body telling it to sweat to cool off. The heat used to just sap every little bit of energy out of me. Now, after "Turning the corner" about last Nov. My body temp is at least back in the high 97s & low 98's. God Bless Good luck, Buzz

I had the sweats terribly from Lyme. One thing my LLMD had me do was put peppermint oil on the back of my neck. It causes a cooling sensation and helped me to at least feel better.

I have been getting light-headed frequently lately. I am in air conditioning and taking my salt, so I don't get that.

just jan - did the LLMD shed any light on the sweating and stomach issues?

As far as heat is heat - Heat is much harder for me to handle when humidity levels are high. Oregon has fairly high humidity, Arizona doesn't. Just my opinion.

I'm confused since so many responded to the heat issue. It sounded like you were saying it wasn't the heat since you have air contioning. Is that what you were saying or did I completely misunderstand??

High humidity does make it more unpleasant... for sure. It's just that in the south, the sun is stronger than in the northern latitudes.

Even when it's dry here, it still feels hotter. You can get a sun burn pretty quickly. It stays hot in the evening, too. It doesn't cool down alot after dark. It also stays light longer.
