I got my IgG and IgM lab work back. It says that IgG p41 Ab is present. But that is the only one, what does that mean??

What lab did you use?

Band 41 is reactive to bacteria that have flagella which is like a tail that helps them move. It could be Lyme, it could be from something else.

But most people with Lyme have band 41 show up first.

--------------------
First Symptom 9/09
Multiple docs, negative Labcorp test
LLMD: 1/10
Positive Igenex/CDC test
Treatment 2/10
2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl
Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues

My health dept. uses LabCorp. I'm not sure what step to take next.

My 1st test was with labcorp as well. I also had band 41.

When I did the Igenex lab test, I had 7 bands show up. They test for more bands and are more sensitive.

Have you found a LLMD?

No I have not, I'm in the process of looking. Does the IgG mean that the bacteria has been in my body for a long time? I had Rocky Mountain Spotted fever as a kid, could that show up as band 41? I am having so many symptoms before i got tested I just knew I had Lyme Disease, nothing else fits. I read that band 41 could indicate syphilis, but I don't have those symptoms, and have had 5 kids and tested for it each time. My Dr. has me on Amox for 10 days, would you reconmend finding an LLMD?

I definitely recommend you getting a LLMD asap.

10 days of AMOX is not enough

And do it as fast as you can

You could have gotten Lyme at the same time as the RMSF. Please go to Seeking a Doctor to find an LLMD near you. It will be hard to find one in NC, but I think there is at least one there.

The best test is from Igenex Lab. www.igenex.com

You need test #188 and 189.
