For those who are interested, I got my metametrix GI ecology profile results today. Apparently I have a parasite of unknown taxonomy.
My doctor wants me to start on Hulda Clark's wormwood/clove/black walnut protocol.
I am actually really happy to have a positive result because I have long suspected parasites, but I just wish it wasn't an unidentifiable one!
Anyone else had this result? Is it true that when it says "unknown taxonomy" it often means some kind of protozoa?
Any input appreciated! Thank you!

Yes, I had a similar result with Metametrix about a year ago. I was positive for Cryptosporidium, H Pylori, and I think a couple with "taxonomy unknown."
I think the "unknowns" refer to parasites problematic in animals but not necessarily humans (I'll have to look at my results again).
Regardless, treatment would be a good idea. I used Alinia at the time. HP requires another protocol.

I had the same results. My doc had me do a course of Albendazole, Flagyl and Plaquenil.
I didn't herx or pass anything visible.
My guts do feel better.
I'm now on maintenance herbs including wormwood and berberine.

My 2 year old had this result. We did a homeopathic treatment with no results. Dr doesn't know what to do next because of her age. We're testing her for Lyme soon.

Yes I had the same result. I didn't really know what to make of it.
I did end up taking an anti-parasitic medicine at one point.
People around here say it takes a long time to treat parasites.

Thank you all very much for the replies. I am reading up on all of this stuff at the curezone parasite support forum. It is daunting and I do feel a bit scared. I just wasn't quite ready to hear that I now have ANOTHER difficult bug to contend with.
