Hi everyone!

I am relatively new to this and the questions in my head have been swimming...'would appreciate some feedback on the following:

1. I know that garlic has many health benefits and I have heard/read recently that eating one raw clove per day can help with lyme. Thoughts?

2. My symptoms are mostly neuro...muscle twitching, feeling like I am drunk 24/7, cognitive difficulties, inability to concentrate, etc. I heard that these symptoms, especially the brain ones, take the longest to resolve and are the last to go away. Is this usually the case? And...can oral antibiotics resolve these symptoms or is the IV route usually necessary?

3. I have read a lot about herxing and it seems like there is a lot of waxing and waning, both with the disease itself and the herx reactions. I have been on antibiotics for 10 weeks. After about the first four weeks, I had a REALLY good week...'felt like I was getting better...'felt about 75% "normal". But, then, after that brief glimmer of hope, I crashed and burned...I have been bad ever since...for the past 5 weeks...especially with worse brain stuff. Is this just a long herx, and the norm, or could I be getting worse? I was under the impression that the herxing would be short periods but that there would be better days ahead, although I know that everyone is different.

Thanks in advance for all of your input!

1) Garlic is good, yes. It also kills parasites, which Lymies are prone to having. Probably not a stand alone treatment.

2) They were not the last to go away for me. I did not do IV, but we talked about it. We were going to do IV in 3 months but tried treating bartonella first and the cognitive symptoms went away with bartonella and parasite treatment.

3) Everyone is different. Try more detox. I found coffee enemas would increase my % by about 30%. I did them daily because of how much better I felt. I also took parsley and burbur, drank a lot of water, and took FIR saunas. It's important to get out the toxins so they don't build up.

The herxing can go on and on. It's the worst part of the disease.. the ups and downs.. mostly downs.

At least you know you're killing off the spriochetes!!

You have I have chatted before. Dizziness / drunk feelings were one of my most problematic symptoms. I had no joint pain. Mine were all neuro with weird anxiety, dizziness, spaciness, etc.

I'm on my 6th week and am doing much better. I would say I"m 90% +/- 10% most days. Yes..I've had a few days of near 100%!! SOme are worse, like when I pulse flagyl. My brain is back and most of the neuro stuff is gone. My ears still ring and feel full, though.

Re herxing...I've yet to have a bad, catastrophic herx. (knock on wood.) I have had 2 or 3 days in the last 6 weeks where I felt more off..tired, dizzy, ear symptoms worse, etc. It ususally goes away and I felt even better afterwards.

Good luck! What meds are you on?
