As one of my many symtoms that I thought were Lyme related I developed extremely itchy feet mainly on the arch and heel.
Now a week after starting Doxycycline for suspected Lyme disease my foot problems have really increased to include not only itching and numbness but now they are painful as well, my feet now always feel like I have been on them for hours and hours and I don't get relief even when I sit down.
Also the skin has changed pretty drastically, the veins seem much more prominent and the skin looks thin and fissured for lack of a better way to describe it.
Also areas look almost black and blue at times.
I talked to someone who said they experienced the same thing after starting treatment which has eased my mind a bit since she did say it mostly cleared up sometime into treatment.
I know alot of people look for pain in the feet pointing toward Bart but this really came on strong after starting the Doxycycline.
Anyone have any thoughts?

It might be Bart. My feet have been a problem for me for years, particularly my right one.
Although I haven't had the itching on my feet that you describe, I have had debilitating pain in my soles and arches.
My right foot and calf are often numb or tingling too. This comes on suddenly with no explanation.
The skin problems that you describe might be Bart as well. I have bruise-like patches and lots of spider veins on my legs. While I had a few of these things for years, I now have a tremendous amount more.
I sometimes have bizarre bruise-like discolorations on the tops and bottoms of my feet as well as my ankles. I also have them on all the other parts of my body too.
My skin problems intensified after about one week on minocycline. I started taking it one year ago and I am still suffering with skin issues.

I think it's Borrelia. The bottoms of my feet were extremely painful for a while and rubbing Venex bee venom ointment on my soles stopped the pain almost instantly. Shortly after I would herx. If you're not allergic to bee stings you should try it. After repeated treatments, I no longer had any more pain. After that I also used it on almost every other part of my body.
Bee venom has mellitin in it, which is highly toxic to Borrelia burgdorferi.
Topical treatment definitely helps, and I used it in addition to my oral antibiotics. Dr. Stephen Barthold at UC Davis did a study which showed that the highest concentration of Bb was found in the skin of the mice they studied, and from the way I herxed after applying Venex topically, I believe that's true.

LeeLee,
Were you using brand Minocycline? My dermatologist told me mever to use generic mino as it can turn the skin blue!
This may be the reson for bruise like marks on your skin and the other blueness that you describe.

feefit,
My bruise-like skin patches have been on-going; Long before I ever was diagnosed and started on abx.
Often times people would (and still do) comment on my bruises. They are very noticeable.
My LLMD attributes them to Bart.

I believe the prices are the same wherever you buy, though. Service from dancing bee acres was always good.
One thing to be aware of is that it's not recommended for people who are allergic to bee stings.
