For anyone who is doing epsom salt baths and/or steam and sauna to help with herxing and detox, I have discovered coconut water to be a fantastic way to rehydrate and balance electrolytes.
Coconut water is a natural elixer - it balances electrolytes naturally without chemicals or added sugar. I am finding that epsom salt baths (with lavender of course) and steaming to be helping so much with herxing and detox. Epsom salt bath especially!
I use about 1/3 of the carton in hot water and soak for at least 30 minutes. It's nice to add candles and soft music. Ahhhh....

I was in Miami South Beach a few weeks ago and the hotel we stayed at would cut off the top of a coconut and put in a straw. It was so much more hydrating than water!! It's really a good idea. More pleasant to drink on the beach than in an epsom salt bath, LOL, but same idea!

Thanks Supergirl. Great suggestion. My husband works outside and sweats al ot. This will be a great thing for him. Plus we're a little tired of just drinking plain old water.
Thanks for the reminder about the baths also. I think you are so right. Peace.

Where do you purchase coconut water at? Health food stores? Is it organic and in cartons and not cans?

You can get it at most health food stores now.. def Whole Foods. They don't have organic ones there yet...maybe soon. Comes in a small little carton in the refrigerator section.
sixgoofykids: gee, thanks! man, but the oil bust be getting to Miami soon, ey? I'm originally from New Orleans and have been following the story.
I've decided today that the next thing I need, even before any more protocols is a vacation.

Thanks. supergirl. We don't have Whole Foods here yet, but will in a few months! We have a couple of so-so health food places that I'll check out and see if they have it. Thanks for the info!

Those with gastric issues (belching, bloating, etc) - coconut water works wonderful. It's so healing.
I haven't had low potassium since drinking it (for whatever reason, it used to go out of range).
I have a coconut water or two every day. Started drinking it before I even heard of it. Suddenly, it's all trendy.

Sometimes you can get the whole coconuts with green pulp at Whole Foods. I was really addicted to them for a while. I love the coconut jelly. You scoop it out when you drink it out of the whole coconut.
They sell it in cans (with the pulp or jelly) at Asian Markets & some supermarkets but they add sugar & preservatives. They have one in a small carton without sugar but it's kind of expensive.
It's great stuff. Coconuts provide so much great food materials & people use the fronds to make roofs for huts & mats.
