OK, so I am exactly 1 month into 1000MG of ceftin a day. I swear my muscle twitches are down.... does this mean the amount of magnesium has somehow gone up, OR the spirochete's were somehow causing the twitching, and since they are being killed, the twitching is slowing?
Also my legs don't seem to ache as much. (could be in my head tho idk)
I think I am going to take another month of ceftin, then a month of flagyl, then maybe ceftin again (for a month) or not..
my doctor beleives in taking meds constantly, in the case of flagyl, and not pulsing. IS this not wise with flagyl?

Oh Dark one. I believe in the biofilm/antibiotic shy spirochetes.
Which doctors effect to evade that stealth ability by pulsing.
I have found the best herx's by going to a different one when the response has been lost...
That hurts but it makes me better for it. Ceftin was very good for me....
http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/short/346/23/1792 Exposure of the infant to antibiotics before cerebrospinal fluid was obtained for rabbit-infectivity testing was associated with a negative test result (P=0.001).
Spirochetes were detected in the cerebrospinal fluid in 17 of 76 infants (22 percent) who had no prior antibiotic exposure.
These 17 infants included 41 percent (16 of 39) of those with some abnormality on clinical, laboratory, or radiographic evaluation;
60 percent (15 of 25) of those with abnormal findings on physical examination that were consistent with congenital syphilis;
and 41 percent (17 of 41) of those with a positive result on IgM immunoblotting or PCR testing of serum, blood, or cerebrospinal fluid, or a positive result on rabbit-infectivity testing of serum or blood. ===================== S. is antibiotic shy too, but B. has a lot more stealth.

You seem to be on to something. Please keep us posted. I was on one month of Ceftin but no relief from muscle twitching...but lots of energy
My llmd doesn't do the pulsing (yet), but it seems to me that this may be a way to get these critters. My experience with me is that they come and go, come and go.
Keep us updated please!

are you taking ONLY ceftin? I think it is supposed to work better with something like zith or biaxin

Only one med at a time, that does not sound logical at all. Also, the 1,000 mg a day of Ceftin is low for Lyme. I took 3,000 mg/day Ceftin with 2,000 mg Biaxin plus Flagyl and Bicillin. I question if you have a doctor that knows what he/she is doing.

I really like Ceftin. I take 1000mg a day, and I pulse Flagyl. Doxy, Ceftin, and Malarone are my favorite meds.
