I felt really stupid today. I went to GI doc because I had dark stools that tested positive for blood. GI doc asked if I had taken pepto bismol. I had no idea that caused black stools. LOL! My stool always tests positive for blood because I have internal hemorrhoids.
Does gastritis go along with babs and does it get worse with herx? I am taking Carafate and omeprazole with no relief.
I have been off abx for a few days, hoping it will clear up. Gastritis also got worse with herx. Is this normal? How do you continue to push through and keep taking abx?
Please help.

Don't feel bad, many of us have done the same thing. Alot of what we ingest affects the colour of the stool.
I had chronic gastritis confirmed by 3 endoscopies. Never knew until now that bart could be responsible.
Here is a link that provides some good information about symptoms and treatment.
