You may need to increase your dose of magnesium - or change the kind you are taking.

Sounds very much like magnesium deficiency but, yes, this does just go along with lyme, very often. Magnesium - and Fish Oil (OmegaBrite) can help.

Turmeric, too.

i get the same thing! not only in arms, legs, face, etc. but inside my body. i tell my husband it feels like i'm pregnant and the baby's kicking!

i'm currently taking 250mg of a generic brand magnesium. (money's really tight so i thought something was better than nothing)

what should the dosage be? dr. b's guidelines don't specify how much to take...

Beyond simple twitching, it's called myoclonus and can have different levels of intensity and different causes.

For lyme patients, it is usually the toxicity of the spirochetes and the liver being overwhelmed that crease an excito-neurotoxicity in the brain and that triggers nerve impulses. It can also be from muscles not getting nutrients they need.

Magnesium is the very best help but it may take 1,000 - 2,000 mg a day, up to bowel tolerance and then back down a bit.

Vitamin D is necessary for Magnesium to work.

Magnesium oxide is the least absorbable type. Citrate, Glycinate are good. Taurine or Magnesium Taurinate added is also good

Be sure to avoid ASPARTAME and MSG - google for all the names and places those hide. They are toxic to the brain and create a hyper-reaction in our nerves.

Also avoid ALL artificial ingredients, dyes, processed foods, etc. Everything should be fresh.

I get shaking inside but mine seems to be blood sugar related. Have you tried eating something to get it to stop? Just my 2 cents.

Wow.....somebody finally describes this the EXACT same way I describe it. It does feel like a baby kicking. In fact, I have taken a few pregnancy tests to make sure I am not pregnant.

It does feel like a twitching of the muscles, but it goes beyond that. It twitching throughout the body, in the colon, eyes, brain, etc. It's almost like it can happen at anytime and anywhere in my body.

tiff, you made me laugh today, thanks for that [Smile] it's just good to know that i'm not alone, i'm not crazy, and that someone out there feels the same way i do!

i didn't do a pregnancy test but it sure did cross my mind! especially after seeing that show "i didn't know i was pregnant". LOL

thanks keebler! i'll gradually increase my mag. and hopefully i'll feel improvement. i already take the vit. D and don't use aspartame or sucrolose. i've been using agave or truvia.

Truvia is not pure stevia. It has additives. Not as bad as aspartame, but still it's not at all what they are marketing to us. They put in cheaper ingredients so they can make more money.

You can explore that and decide if you want to use it until you next go shopping and then return it because of their false advertising.

SweetLeaf or Trader Joe's are two of the best. SweetLeaf drops - also come in flavors but I just like the SweetLeaf SteviaClear drops - plain.

SweetLeaf's powder clumps a bit. Trader Joe's powder does not. Both say just pure stevia on the label but the way they prepared it must have a difference.

catdog,
Look at the ingredients list on the bottle of magnesium.

If it says mag oxide, you should look for something else.

Also eat foods high in magnesium: beans, almonds, pumpkin seeds.
