We are trying to think of what could be causing these stabbing pains in my daughter. At first I thought it was gas pains, but she's been having them for about a week now and it's happening every day.

Does anybody know what could be causing it? When it started, she was only taking Zithromax. She has added Flagyl in the last couple of days.

She's not a big complainer, so I know it's really bothering her.

Well, stabbing pains in my chest is one of my most frequent symptoms. I have Lyme with a co-infection of Babesia. I also have stabbing pains throughout my body but my chest pains seem to be the worst. I hope this helps a little. Out of curiosity how old is your daughter? I am 31 years old a have a 2 1/2 year old. I fear that she may have got Lyme in utero. I keep a watchful eye on all of her symptoms.

The pains are just out of the blue and they hurt really bad and then go away.

She is 14 years old and we think she has had lyme since she was 4. We remember the bite. She has had bad knee pain for years and she was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome at 5. We now realize that it was neuro lyme.

If this was a Babesia symptom, would the pains be constant?

I get the sudden chest pain and then I am fine. It's on my list of questions for doc at next appointment.

I will let you know if I find anything more out. I hope your daughter gets relief soon.

I've had both the stabbing chest pain and what feels like heart muscle spasm (which I read is impossible?) or maybe nerve pain.
It was really bad for a couple months for some reason, and now it's finally abated and only occurs once in a while.
Has she had her heart checked out? EKG or anything?
The PA I saw didn't think it was my heart at all.
I think she was leaning toward esophageal spasm or something. Pain is referred, so it's hard to tell where it's coming from.
Does she/has she had any digestive problems?

i get this too. i have lyme & babs. it happens in my chest, head, and lower abdomen. it will occur several times per day for a few days then just disappear. sometimes for a week sometimes for a month!

i've had ultrasounds, ECG & EKG and everything comes out normal. also had EMG to check nerves and that was normal too. so i believe it's from the lyme and/or babs.

I have noticed right before improvements I get pains---I hope it is the ketes letting go of the nerves. F is powerful stuff.

But PVC's, PAC's, Heart Blocks are not out of the equation in Lyme. As some patients blood gets too thick.

If she is symptomatic I would get it checked out just to be sure.

Thanks everybody.

She was just in the ER a couple of months ago and they checked her heart out. She was just having really bad anxiety.

We have an appt. soon with the LLMD so I will just wait and see what he has to say.

I'm thinking the Flagyl might be starting to hit some things and she's probably having symptoms from that.

Hopefully they will start her on something for Babs when we go back.

Zithromax can cause chest pain and heart issues as well.

Is she on magnesium?
Low mag can cause anxiety.
