and is done treating because they are 90% better? They just decide to live with the few lingering mild symptoms?

Is this a horrible idea?

I feel pretty normal except for a little muscle pain and twitching here and there..

should i keep taking abx until I feel nothing?

this is a hard decision.

I went to LLMD yesterday and we were discussing how i have a symptom here and there for maybe an hour a day. Nothing ALL DAY and nothing awful.

We decided to try Bart meds to see what happens.

When do you finally decide enough is enough and you are "healthy enough"?

--------------------
First Symptom 9/09
Multiple docs, negative Labcorp test
LLMD: 1/10
Positive Igenex/CDC test
Treatment 2/10
2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl
Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues

Typically, people go two months past their last symptom before they stop treating.

My LLMD tries to switch people over to herbs to finish the job/maintain.

You might look at Buhner herbs, I really like the combo of andrographis, banderol, samento, and resveratrol. I also took parsley and burbur. Mine was mix of Buhner and Cowden.

If you do nothing, you run the risk of declining as the bacteria take over again.

Also, could what's left be toxins? I did Hulda Clark liver cleanses and they helped with the lingering symptoms.

Thanks six

This is my confusion.

Are they still symptoms, or toxins left over? or maybe my mercury fillings? Which I will be removing starting next month.

Doc said I can maybe take a break and just do herbs and detox to see what happens.

I guess if I decline, I just go back on meds? This whole thing is so confusing.

Will look up the liver cleanse you mentioned.

I own the Buhner book but haven't dived into it yet.

I would love to wait 2 months until my last symptom, BUT, maybe my left over symptoms are not from Lyme. I guess it's a guessing game and trial and error.

That might be a good idea if you have amalgams. I did not finish up with abx, I ended with biophotons, KPU, and detox.

If the symptoms are not from Lyme, you'd be waiting forever!! So that's a good point.

Plus, I'm of the camp that believes it's like chicken pox, we don't entirely get rid of it, we just get it so it's no longer a stress to our immune system. So, you have to be sure your immune system can handle it by eliminating the toxic load, being sure you have the right nutrients, etc.

If you decline, you'll know soon enough. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer, just go with your gut.

I went off antibiotics while still having muscle twitching...felt much better after 8 months of treatment and I thought I was cured.

Two years later...relapse...more neurological this time and was disabled for several months. Am on antibiotics again, and am improving.

But if I had to do it over again, I never would have stopped treatment so soon. I had no idea.

Of course, this is my experience, talk it over with your doctor, he/she knows best.

Good luck, at least you are doing very well...

I quit abx for 8 months using tremendous amounts of herbs but I relapsed. I seemed fine for awhile and then it came back, which was confusing as people suggested it was a herx from the herbs.

I would pulse off the abx, not just quit. I recently tried it and my bart started coming out again. I am 90% but I can get sick very quickly. It is a battle. It hits my brain first so relapsing is scary.

With regard to my symptoms, I have been to more neurologists than I can count, and absolutely none have an explanation for my neurological symptoms/spasms/twitching. Sometimes I think it is from something else, but if it is, there is no doctor who will venture to guess what that something else is.
During my last relapse the spasms increased tremendously. Since this is a part of the disease process, the only logical conclusion is that this is due to Lyme (in my case).

It is a difficult decision; I am in it for the long haul now.

I don't think there is "an answer". Wish there was!
best of luck
