I faxed the Western blot to my naturopath, who told me that the P41 is indicative of tick bite and suggested testing through Igenex or Neuroscience. She said:
The trouble with LabCorp and their test is that they use a European antigen vs the species of lyme we have here so their results are usually not reliable. It would be best to use another lab such as Neuroscience or Igenix.
This ND knows of and has worked with my MD in the past, so hopefully if I pass along her information he'll be amenable, but I want to be sure to get all the tests done that are important.
Shortly after my balance issues started, I had a time where I had severe bradycardia. It didn't interfere with my exercise tolerance, but I am pretty fit. I've read that can also be Lyme-related, although I had a past history of bradycardia as a teenager (I'm 55 now).
Thanks. This forum is amazing!

You're naturopath sounds very smart and he is right. Test with Igenex. They specialize in tick borne diseases.
What happens when you use a lab like Labcorp:
For ``epidemiological purposes'' the CDC eliminated from the Western Blot analysis the reading of bands 31 and 34. These bands are so specific to Borrelia burgdorferi that they were chosen for vaccine development. Since a vaccine for Lyme disease is currently unavailable, however, a positive 31 or 34 band is highly indicative of Borrelia burgdorferi exposure. Yet these bands are not reported in commercial Lyme tests.
Igenex tests for these bands.
Also, don't know if your regular doc can help you.
Please find a lyme literate medical doctor. You can post on this forum "seeking a doctor"..
