ok Day 7.. just had a fever last night but was not terrible

I am getting sinus congestion that blows out as dark yellow mucus wondering if this is related to the herx?

also I hear a lot about ear toxicity well I am getting like a pulse in my ear.. almost feels like something is causing a bit of pressure in the right ear and causing a pulse (heart beat)

should I be concerned about this somewhat mild ear symptom if it is not painful and I have pretty good balance?

I got the worst headache yet along with the fever last night. the fever is gone now but the headache remains

thoughts?

Paul

It IS possible to get a sinus infection while on abx for Lyme. So you may want to see your GP if this continues.

I wouldn't worry about the pulse in the ear. I had that a lot while going thru treatment. As far as I know, it's not dangerous.

@Lymetoo

the sinus infection is also minor.. I have had this type of congestion often in the past.. but it seems the antibiotic brought it on was just curious it does move and I can breath ok... so I would not be too concerned about it unless it gets really blocked up... I think I will run the humidifier tonight to loosen it up.

is it ok to take asparin for the headache? or should I avoid it if possible?

Paul

Yellow-green nasal drainage, whether thick or thin, does not necessarily mean that you have a bacterial sinus infection. You may be fighting off a cold or suffering with allergies.

Try to stay well hydrated, drink extra fluids if you can to help thin out the mucus. You might also find relief with a saline nasal spray or by using a neti pot to physically wash away the irritants.

If you run a humidifier make sure that it is cool mist, never run warm mist because it promotes fungal and bacterial growth.

It should be OK to take aspirin or ibuprofen for the headaches. It would be best to check with your pharmacist or run all your meds through a drug interaction checker just to be sure. I use the one at drugs.com

You could also try 12hr Sudafed (not sudafed PE) and or Mucinex if you are experiencing alot of sinus pressure. These will help thin and drain the excess mucus in your sinuses.

feel better!

You might try a neti pot for the sinus issues. I haven't had any sinus problems since I bought mine a couple years ago and I used to suffer regular sinus infections.

You can get them at Whole Foods, a health food store, or a pharmacy like Walgreens. Be sure to buy neti salt, don't use regular salt.

I had sinus issues 6 months ago neti pot would not even flow. the humidifier cleared up my sinuses and they have been clear for 6 months now with antibiocs it is coming back so I am sure the bacteria is being chased around a bit

My son got sinus congestion when he first went on IV Invanz-- his first month of IVs. I think it might have been Lyme die-off in the sinuses... he had a long history of sinus problems. Zytec and Sudafed 12 hr (from behind the counter.. not PE) helped.
