I sort of can't track whose eyes are jumpy. Sound like both of you are experienced different degrees of that.

If hers, the eye jumpiness is likely nystagmus and caused by the inner ear infection. You'll find more details from a Google search of: Nystagmus.

Toxicity from infection can cause the nystagmus but so can the inflammation/swelling -- and that results in mixed signals the brain is getting from the ears that really control so much about our body's ability to move, and to see.

When the inner ear is affected, brain signals can go haywire with eyes - and even with motor skills.

Until the ears are cleared up, the eyes will probably be spastic.

If yours, yes, fatigue can be the trigger and cause nystagmus, further intensifying eye fatigue. You - and your eyes - need magnesium to help calm spasms but also REST is key. Your body is telling you that by insisting that you "just have to lie down to make it stop." .

Nystagmus frequently goes along with lyme due partly from lyme's toxicity's effect on the inner ear - but also from the fatigue factor - and from the magnesium depletion that is typical for lyme patients.

You may need up to 1,000 mg (to bowel tolerance and then back down). A child would need less but your LLMD can guide you on that.

In addition to treating the infection and get quiet rest:

* Magnesium can help. Sublingual B-6 helps the magnesium work better.

* Ginger capsules can help reduce vertigo, nausea and nystagmus from inner ear stress.

* check all meds and over the counter products to be sure they do not have ototoxic side effects or list nystagmus as a side effect.

* REST - Both of you should avoid strong lights and too much stimulation of any kind. This will get better. Good luck

This teaches us how to let our eyes rest:

YOGA FOR YOUR EYES

It's nice to see what it's like on YouTube and then purchase for your daily use with your DVD player. YouTube denies him of his rightful due for all his research and work.

The DVD is very affordable - about the cost of one supplement - it's just about $20. and you get a book with it, too. The DVD is also much easier on your eyes - from your TV at a distance. The computer screen is much harder on eyes.

However, if the budget is just not able to manage this, my guess is that he posted this YouTube clips so that everyone could have have the basic details.

Some libraries may also carry the DVD/book.

This 1 hour and 15 minute DVD plus 65 page illustrated study guide and eye chart was the surprise hit at the recent New York Yoga Expo and evidently with good reason.

Fatigue makes all my symptoms worse including the blurred vision.

Hugs, hope you and your little one feels better soon [Smile]

It sounds like it's from the stress. I hope everyone gets better. Sleep is when our body is able to recover & rejuvenate. Not getting proper sleep makes everything worse.
