Could someone please give me an idea of the cost of the monthly blood draws for when you are on Lyme treatment?

I am meaning CBC, Liver Function tests, Urea and Creatinine?

I don't think you should have to have blood draws on a monthly basis. I think the recommendation is to have your levels checked about every four months

I don't know the price because my insurance covers it.

Can you order your own bloodwork even though you are in Canada?? CBC & CMP (liver function, urea & creatinine are usually included in the CMP). Not sure about the costs in Canada, but the two tests are usually inexpensive in the States.

I have a LLMD in the USA and blood tests are required monthly....at least at the beginning.

Many people in Canada cannot get a local doctor to OK the bloods, so, if they live fairly near the border, an option would be to go to the US and get them drawn on the LLMD's order.

Hence the question. How many $$$$'s ?

Annelet, it is my understanding that Naturopathic physicians will soon be able to perscribe meds (starting September)therefore: they should also be able to order the necessary bloodwork to follow up on treatment which will be covered by your medical.

If things are going well, no need to get blood drawn on a monthly basis. I get blood drawn 3 or 4x a year.

Don't know the cost, since my ins pays the majority of labs.

My suggestion is to get blood test less often to save money; unless of course you have an issue requiring monthly checks.
