Im seeing my llmd today and I told him I have been on medication for about 2 months now and only feel little bit improvment.

I ask him how long should I continue to take medication? he said he really dont know ,everyone is differnet and I also ask him should I change the medication or dosage,he just said keep it..

Maybe it's because im pregnant now so there is not much choice about the medication for me at this moment.

I don't know,I just feel like there is no end of this.

Sorry, lyme really can be an exhausting illness with a full range of ways to clobber us. Two months really is very little time to see a good turn-around, though.

Were you also assessed for coinfections? Are you taking good liver support - and magnesium - and getting your Omega oils?

What about another LLMD? One who may be able to offer you more?

Might you also be able to consult a LL ND (naturopathic doctor) for support measures that can improve your comfort level?

It can be a long road but others have succeeded. Really.

Can you communicate with other women who have been in your position? There are many who have been treated through pregnancy. Usually, treatment (or treatment and then at least close monitoring) lasts until the baby is born and the baby is then tested and monitored, too.

I hope you find others who have walked in your shoes as it really helps to see how others managed all this. I'm sorry it's such a precarious situation.

My symptoms have been relatively mild, and I got treated early (10 weeks after my tick bite).

When I finally got to an LLMD, 6 months after infection, and started doxy, I had a 10-day herx and then felt a bit worse than I had been feeling for the next several months.

I didn't notice any sign of improvement at all until after the 4th month (a month after I added Biaxin to the doxy).

The fact that your doctor is not switching you all around to different drugs after so short a time (2 months is short in Lyme time), and not telling you "You will take X for so many months, then Y for so many months" is probably good. It means he is giving the first drug a chance to work, and will add or change other ones depending on your body's response as you go along.

I had a similar uncertainty to yours when I didn't start getting better right after starting with my LLMD. But I have been slowly seeing gradual improvement, starting after that 4th month.

I had also had 3 months of Ceftin from my GP and 1 month of Buhner herbs on my own (relapsed right after the Ceftin), so actually it was 8 months of treatment before noticeable improvement.

Not to make you feel worse, but some people don't feel a change until a year of treatment goes by or sometimes even two years. It's so varied and different for everyone though.

Also if you are pregnant, you can't take all the different antibiotics. I think you can only take amoxy while pregnant to protect the baby. After the baby is born, your LLMD can then treat you with multiple antibiotics.

I think I have that right. Its kind of like the doctors hands are tied while you are pregnant. The concern has to be the unborn child for now.

Also, 2 months is nothing when it comes to lyme treatment. I have been treating over 2 years and I started to improve a couple of months prior to the 2 year mark.

feelfit-although, I felt a lot better during my pregnancy, I was quite sick when I first got pregnant and had only been in treatment 6 months at the time.

really, these Dr's should be telling us that thyroid meds make you super fertile! LOL!

Anyway, after treating 10 months straight with omnicef and zith for the baby's sake, it got rid of many of my lyme symptoms. And, months after the baby was born, some symptoms returned but at least 25-30 of them NEVER came back.

So, for me, I felt better while getting good lyme treatment (during the pregnancy). You may find that after the pregnancy, you too, will have treated enough to get much symptom relief.

Hope you feel better, and congratulations!

I think there is a yahoo lyme and pregnancy group. Might be good for you to find them. Sorry I don't know the details.
