Heavy Metal Poisoning

How to identify heavy metal poisoning, and which metals aggravate or cause which disease.
Toxic heavy metals are divided into two groups. The first group of heavy metals, which includes lead, cadmium, aluminium, and mercury, has no known biological function in our metabolism. The other group is made up of metals which are vital to our bodies in very small concentrations, but can become poisonous in larger concentrations and must be removed using a detox or body cleansing. This second group includes iron, copper, zinc, arsenic, and nickle.

Toxic heavy metals damage the metabolism in two ways. First, they accumulate in the vital organs and glands, such as the heart, kidneys, nerves, brain, bones, and joints. Secondly, they can block and take the place of essential minerals without fulfilling their functions within the body. In this way, heavy metals impede enzyme function in the metabolic process. It is therefore extremely important to perform a detox or cleansing if even very small amounts of heavy metals are present in the body.

One of the best natural substances for the detox and cleansing of heavy metals is chlorella algae, particularly in the micronized form used in the detox products of the Biologo-Detox-Line. The Biologo-Detox-Line contains exclusively medicinal-quality chlorella algae. Furthermore, these algae are purely tank grown, which is even better than organic, and guaranteed free of heavy metals, pesticides, and fungicides. Ordinary chlorella is often contaminated with heavy metals, making it unsuitable for detox products.

Here follows an explanation of heavy metals and the symptoms and clinical patterns with which they are connected.

Lead (Pb) - Toxic Tiredness

This heavy metal has an interesting historical parallel to the symptoms of poisoning seen in modern times, where detox and bodily cleasing are more important than ever. The technique of lead casting was invented in ancient Rome shortly after the death of Caesar, and at that time, it was considered elegant to drink from lead vessels. Since such practices were reserved for the wealthy aristocratic circles, mental illness spread throughout the influential circles of Roman society like an epidemic. A similar phenomenon can be seen today--this time through lead taken up through the air, water, and soil.

Lead has become widespread though many years of use in our daily lives. Tetra-ethyl lead used to be added to fuel to inmprove knock-resistance, and after leaving vehicles' exhaust pipes, it spread to the air, soil, and water, thereby making its way into the food chain. Lead is also a widespread material in water pipes, paints, and anti-corrosives.

Lead accumulates in the bones and soft tissues, impairing the body's performance. Lead acts similarly to calcium, and when it replaces calcium in the body, the ididivual's health suffers terrible damage. Thirty years ago, Dr. Blumer, a Swiss physician, discovered that the number of cancer deaths in houses on the main street of his hometown was seven times higher than in other areas. He then treated some of his patients with a detox and bodily cleansing to remove the heavy metals from their systems. The patients who received the detox treatment later experienced 90% less cancer than those who were untreated. This clearly shows that a detox and cleansing of heavy metals from the body is a powerful prophylactic.

Lead also enters an unholy union with mercury (see also: Amalgam), referred to as a synergetic toxicity. The fact of the matter is, when both mercury and lead are present in the body, their toxicity is increased more than tenfold. The toxicology still practiced today is based on a level of contamination of a single toxin; synergetic toxicity is not taken into account. As the medical profession lacks the tools to recognise chronic toxicity, a lot of doctors still do not think of it as a possible diagnosis.

The following symptoms can arise due to lead poisoning, making a detox and/or cleansing necessary: anemia, dizziness, loss of libido, impotence, epilepsy, infertility, nephritis, insomnia, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, hyperactivity, exhaustion, irritability, nervousness, anxiety, muscle weakness, meningitis, weakened function of the adrenal glands, and high blood pressure.

Cadmium - A Toxin Provokes Arthritis

Like lead, this metal is found all around us, and it is therefore advisable to undertake a detox or cleansing. Cadmium is a seemingly indispensible component in anticorrosives. It travels from car motors through exhaust pipes and into the air, spreading to crop fields and, in cities, to the food found in stores and markets. Cadmium is taken up by the body primarily through the air, contaminated food, and cigarette smoke. A pack of cigarettes, or the equivalent in secondhand smoke, increases a person's average cadmium intake by 100%. Studies have shown that the concentration of cadmium in human organs, lungs, kidneys, liver, and bones has increased 10 to 100% in the last 50 years, and a regular detox and bodily cleansing is therefore necessary.

The following symptoms and clinical patterns can develop as the result of cadmium poisoning: exhaustion, anemia, emphysema, pulmonary function disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, alopecia, renal hypertension (resulting from kidney damage), osteoarthritis, infections, hyperlipidamia, circulatory disorders, and loss of sense of smell.

An interesting note: Cadmium is a metal that, for 100 years, was exclusive to Germany, where it was derived from zinc carbonate and classified as a metal in 1817. Cadmium is a very rare metal, with only two large sources worldwide: one in Siberia and one in America. Nevertheless, because of its extensive use over many years in Germany, cadmium should not be underestimated as a toxic heavy metal.

Mercury (Hg) - The Toxin That Predisposes toward Dementia and Parkinson's

This metal is of particular importance among heavy metals, in particular when it is combined with other heavy metals (see also: Amalgam). A detox and cleansing from mercury is therefore very important. Mercury is regarded as the most poisonous non-radioactive element, ranking sixth on a list of three million poisonous substances. The mercury ion, which is generated through the vaporization of mercury or released by amalgam fillings as the result of chewing, is especially toxic since it is 50 times more readily taken up by the body than pure mercury. Mercury vapor leads to irreversible damage of the proteins it contacts, remaining for many decades in the brain and nerves due it its long halflife (a halflife refers to the period of time required for half of a given substance to decay or be removed).

The problem with amalgam contamination is that it generally does not have just one characteristic symptom, but rather leads to a whole cluster of disorders or symptoms. This makes a diagnosis that much more difficult. Dr. Dietrich Klinghard
Mercury acts like a key to the cell wall, meaning that its presence blocks the detox and cleansing of any other heavy metals from cell. Mercury is also unique in that, even though it is known to cause have so many negative side effects, it is still used in medicine and dentistry: pharmaceutical companies still include mercury in products such as disinfectants, blood pressure medications, eyedrops, powder, acne medication, and vaccines.

The following is a list of illnesses and disorders that alternative healers and physicians believe to be closely connected to mercury poisioning and thus make a detox and/or cleansing necessary:
Liver disease, indigestion, ulcers, hyperactivity, constipation, headaches, muscle weakness, goiter, hypertension, Raynaud syndrome, brittle fingernails, lethargy, disorientation, burning sensation in the hands and feet, arthritis, rash, depression, schizophrenia, autism, poor liver function, scleroderma, arteriosclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, balance disorders, dementia, Parkinson's.

Other Toxic Metals--And Their Symptoms
There are still other, less widespread toxic metals, such as arsenic. Here follows a list of other metals and the symptoms or clinical patterns they can cause in humans. Anyone experiencing even one of these symptoms or full-blown illnesses requires a detox or cleansing of heavy metals from the body.

Aluminium: Anemia, Alzheimer's ,muscle pain, osteoporosis, colitis, nephritis, kidney dysfunction, liver disease, indigestion, ulcers, hyperactivity, constipation, headaches, acid reflux

Arsenic: Headache, rash, muscle weakness, goiter, cardiac insufficiency, hypertension, Raynaud syndrome, lethargy, disorientation, burning sensation in the hands and feet

Copper: Arthritis, rash, depression, schizophenia, scleroderma, anemia, artheriosclerosis, neuromuscular disorders

Nickle: Diabetes, lung cancer, endogenous eczema (neurodermatits), anorexia, kidney dysfunction

Manganese: Emotional instability, muscle weakness, headaches, disturbance of balance, dementia, lethargy, rage, "manganese madness" (locura manganica), dopamine deficiency, Parkinson's, tremors, waxy face.

This list, which makes no claims to completeness, is meant to demonstrate just how catastrophic the effects of toxic heavy metals on the body are. Likewise, it is intended as an invitation to take detox and cleansing of heavy metals from the body seriously.

Keebler, here is the currency exchange site.
I am still hoping that Tim Ray, etc. will have a distributor in the US soon.

This subject should be way above everything else as far as the road toward wellness is concerned. You can do everything else - if this problem is not handled properly, nothing else will work. It took me about 12 years to figure this out with absolute certainty.

Take care.

The EPA has finally wised up and now requires all renovation companies to get special certification in safety procedures regarding lead if working in buildings that were built before 1978. That law went into effect in April 2010.
