My first huge herx was on Claforan and I thought there was nothing comparable to it.
Guess what...there is...rifampin herx
Honestly, I thought I would not make it and that it was my end.
I just stopped my meds for a week until I felt strong enough to take another herx. gluthation IV works for me.

I forget to mention that my second rifampin herx was much easier to handle.
Do not give up.

Hang in there Putnam. Sometimes it's hard to have to change meds. Try not to worry about the side effects and possibly herx reaction. Just jump in and see what happens. It may be the right combo that you've been needing, the key to your recovery. Lets hope
Sounds like your LLMD really cares and wants you to get well. And it sounds like you can trust her because she's already pulled you through some tough times.
Take care and good luck! You can do this

I can relate. I also have OCD and when you get something like bartonella which can almost make you lose your mind on its own....it's not a good combination! I start literally throwing things at people during my bart flares!
You will get there, just hang on

So sorry to read any of my Lymenet friends going through a horrid time.
My first herx was from Doxy. It was from an extremely low dose too.
I cannot imagine what you went through with all the meds they have you on.
I just wanted to send you my best wishes and let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Good luck to you. This disease is horrid.
