I received my test results from my GP today.
Elisa non-reactive
For Babesia it states: Babesia antibody
Result: Serology is performed only when 3 thin and thick films from 3 different days (preferably taken during a febrile period) have been examined and are negative.
I was told to ask an immunologist about this result???
For Bartonella: Bartonella Henselae IGG Result: 1:100 Send a repeat specimen in 2 weeks (Indirect Flourescent Test)
INTERPRETATION: Reactivity >= 1:320 is presumptive evidence of recent infection. Cross-reactivity occurs between B. henselae and B. quintana.
Well I know I don't have a recent infection as I have been ill for the past 10 years. The doctor thinks these results don't warrant any kind of treatment. It's a weak positive according to her.
I've always suspected Bartonella, but now I don't know.
Anybody with knowledge about this result, please offer your opinion.

I'm not familiar with that testing....but I would TREAT even a "weak" positive. Positive is positive in my book!

I was surprised that I was still creating antibodies after all this time. I think the GP wants to see if these levels will increase over the next 2 weeks.. which is highly unlikely as it is not a new infection.
I would think that positive doesn't just happen without reason but I don't know.

It is your life so get someone else, preferably an LLMD, to treat you.

You're right.. but BC is much like Montana in that there are very few doctors even remotely aware of Lyme disease here.
I am not going to ignore my symptoms, it's my approach to treatment that is concerning me right now.
