A friend of mine, whose daughter has lyme, was told by her alternative leaning doctor to give her daughter 1000mg of thiamine daily to deter mosquitos and ticks.
My friend and her daughter always get eaten alive. They tried it and says it works. They went on a weekend camping trip and never saw a bug near them although others were getting attacked.
She told me the doc told them the thiamine changes the hormones (maybe she meant pheramones?) so the bugs, including ticks, wouldn't be interested.
Any thoughts?

if it works I'm in. If you are outside with me you don't have to worry about getting bit b/c they are all biting me and I react with welts that stick around for 3-5 days.
