Tomorrow is my first appt with LLMD. I was treated last year by ID. I have been reading as much as possible about Lyme and have a list of questions ready, but am wondering if I'm missing some really important stuff that I should be asking?

I did test reactive on IGM 23 and 41 last year on western blot from quest and lyme disease screen was H 1.12(this was enough for family doctor to diagnose Lyme, but tried to treat with only 10 days of Doxy which even I knew was wrong). They are redoing the tests and sending them through IGENX as well as checking for coinfections. Because of my current symptoms, after several phone conversations regarding symptoms that are showing up for the first time, the nurse has informed me they may start treating before they get test results. How do I know which medicines are okay with others? How has everyone found out so much about supplements that help?

A lot of these posts have been helpful, but also confusing. I trust the LLMD I'm seeing as he is highly recommended and has been there himself, but also know that I'm my own best advocate.

Also, I was wondering how you guys have been able to keep jobs and take care of kids. I cannot take time off work, have 2 dogs, live alone and about 2 hours from my parents (who are very supportive and understand how sick Lyme makes a person - I feel so awful for those who have family who don't believe them.) How do I get through this on my own?

--------------------
June 2009: Lyme IGM 23 and 39 positive, Titer 1.12.
September 2010: Rediagnosed with Lyme as well as Babesia coinfection.

Hi, it's very difficult to be alone with this disease. Are there any neighbors or friends who can check in on you from time to time? It might help if they watch UOS so they have a better understanding of what this is all about. Maybe your parents can come and stay with you if you have times when you really feel badly.

You'll get through it. Ask your LLMD alot of questions. If your Dr. uses supplements, he/she should be able to tell you what you need and when you need it. You HAVE to be your own advocate! Ask, suggest, ask again if you don't understand the answer, and if you get home and you need to call, then call for an explanation.
