Hi Everyone,

I am writing to report how much symptom relief I am getting from eating nine gloves of raw garlic throughout the day. I looked at why this may be and found this interesting. I wanted to add garlic capsules, even the freeze dried, never had the same effect for me.

I know many of you are highly educated in this area but we are all looking for something inexpensive to help us so here it is.

In humans, garlic has been shown to enhance the activity of natural killer (NK) cells.

Modulation of Cytokine Secretion by Garlic Oil Derivatives Is Associated with Suppressed Nitric Oxide Production in Stimulated Macrophages

We previously described that garlic oil derivatives differentially suppress the production of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) in activated macrophages. In the present study, we investigated the effects of the garlic derivatives, diallyl sulfide (DAS), diallyl disulfide (DADS), and allyl methyl sulfide (AMS), on cytokine production in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells, and the association between modulation of cytokines and inhibition of NO production was also assessed. The results indicated that these garlic compounds had different effects on the secretion of activated cytokines, including proinflammatory tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6, as well as the antiinflammatory, IL-10. DAS inhibited the production of all stimulated cytokines in a concentration-dependent manner, and the inhibition was closely associated with the suppression of NO and PGE2 production. DADS repressed the production of stimulated TNF-α and IL-10 and increased the production of activated IL-1β and, to a lesser extent, IL-6; but only the decreased IL-10 production was associated with DADS-induced NO inhibition. Yet, the DAS- and DADS-suppressed NO production was independent of TNF-α. AMS, on the other hand, slightly suppressed the stimulated TNF-α but enhanced IL-10 production, and such modulation was closely associated with the decrease in NO production.

I hope this helps, Truesun

Hello Canefan17,

I understand the need for the probiotics and take them but why glutamine??? Is this to help my liver?

Glad it's helping.

Be careful, though, as raw garlic can eat a whole in your stomach. Nine cloves can be too much. Some people can tolerate it, some can't -- or can until it's too late.

More than two cloves a day can cause anemia, according to Bernard Jenson, Ph.D. in his book "GARLIC Healing Powers" - a very good little book.

Allicin capsules that are enteric coated would be a safer way to go. Maybe one or two cloves if you can handle that and then allicin capsules for the fuller effect.

L-Glutamine can help stomach tissue heal but it can also trigger anxiety and seizures in those with neurotoxic illness.

As with anything there are risk. And like most of us I am willing to take those risk to get some relief. I eat the garlic in between bites of other food. It ruins the taste of my meals but that is a small price to pay in my opinion. It is keeping me from having to take Diflucan regularly which has its own risk and I always prefer something natural. I was taking glutathione pushes but those triggered other symptoms.
Unfortunately, its all trial and error. I just ordered a GB 4000 today with the MOPA. I pray it is the final answer. I will report my results.

Thanks for the added note about in between bites of food. That is what's helped me when I've done this at times. It is amazing, really. A thick lentil and quinoa soup works well.

I tend to do best with the allicin capsules from Hepapro but garlic cloves are much more within the budget and I can balance that out after some practice.

If you feel stomach irritation at any point, Slippery Elm powder and DGL may be of help - just in case. The caution note was not to discourage or rain on your parade but mostly to let others know how to proceed safely.

Truesan,
Glad you are getting some results from the garlic. I tested garlic capsules through electrodermal screening and it came up as killing both lyme and bartonella.

Congrats on ordering the GB and MOPA! That is very exciting. Please keep us posted. I am considering getting that combo myself. Have you heard any other reviews about it besides D. Bergy's experience? I would start slowly...it sounds very powerful.

Dear Tick Battler, I have read many reviews and talked to others that have used the GB 4000 successfully without the MOPA. I spoke to the manufacturer and he explained the MOPA to my husband and I and along with what D. Bergy writes I see the advantage. If it works believe me I'll be shouting from the mountain tops.

From my understanding you can get alot of help from just the GB 4000. I went ahead and bit the bullet buying the MOPA because my kids are involved and I am praying to be led to the cure for us.

I am using the advise mainly of the man off the canlyme.com website who wrote about what really helped him and so far he's been on the money with what really works and what doesn't at least for me. He did a list of what didn't help, what helped some, and what was very beneficial.

I'll keep you posted. I am definately a little intimidated with trying the machine but infection has hit my heart three times and I'm sick of it.
