My new LLMD wanted me on Levaquin but I couldn't afford the $483/month for that med. So she RXed Bactrim/Biaxin. But she also wants me to start flagyl in a week to make sure I don't have a reaction ro Biaxin-I've taken bactrim before.
I see a lot of people pulse flagyl. But she wants me to start slow, one pill every other day, then one every day, then two pills a day. Not pulsing though, everyday.

I have known some people to take Flagyl two weeks on and two weeks off. Some people can't tolerate it for more than 2 weeks at a time (b/c either it causes too much of a Herx or G stuff).

I know some who have done it. Flagyl can cause peripheral neuropathy. So be careful taking it for a long time. That is why most pulse.
