I always have back pain, but for the last couple years I get these very frequent episodes lasting anywhere from a couple days to weeks at a time.
The pain is hard to explain, it's like it is right under the surface of the skin. It is so painful that I can't sit back. Not even against a soft sofa, or pillows. It is most painful in the area around the shoulder blades and even at the backs of my arms.
I also have constant pain with any pressure or touch all along my back right at the height and area where my bra's strap used to go around. I say used to go because I can't wear a bra anymore. It hurts way too much!!
My poor husband has to be so careful when he hugs me or touches me because most of the time any pressure is painful.
Does anyone else have symptoms like these? Are these Lyme symptoms? If so does anyone know something/anything that may help?
Thanks, Lisa

This sounds like a form of neuropathy to me. Lyme would be the cause of it.
The best thing for neuropathy is good lyme treatment.
My lyme doctor also had me take sublingual (dissolve under the tongue) vitamin B12 for neuropathy symptoms.
In fact, vitamin B is just great for neuropathy, so I hope you take vitamin B.
Try taking the various supplements for neurologic symptoms that Burrascano lists on page 29.
If you can get a doc to try a B12 injection for you when you have this, it might be well worth the money. Hope these things work for you.
I never had a symptom like this, but I DID have the feeling of sunburn on my skin when I went to bed at night. The sunburn would just be where ever my body was touching the bed.
I would call your symptom "skin hypersensitivity."
You will notice that symptom listed on page 10 of Burrascano. It reads:
"Tingling, numbness, burning or stabbing sensations, shooting pains, skin hypersensitivity."
Lyme disease is essentially a disease of the nervous system, per Burrascano. So, the lyme is attacking/affecting the nerves of your skin in that particular part of your body and, as a result, they are registering pain sensations at the slightest pressure. The skin is being hypersensitive.
Let us know if any of these supplements help you.

Yes it is a neuropathy most doctors will not recognize. I could not stand to be hugged for over a year before I found Lyme...
People tend to just tolerate these sneaky symptoms.
When you go to touch someone and they back off or say oh on a pat on the back, or a hand to the shoulder----
It is wonderful when treatment resolves this symptom. Good Hugs again...

Thanks TF, and Pinelady I really appreciate your replies.
I've had hypersensitivity symptoms from my RSD before but they are always directly on the suface of the skin itself. Nothing at all could touch my leg, not even sheets. Thankfully I live in Southeast Florida, because I couldn't wear long pants for over 7 yrs.
Anyway, this is different from the RSD hypersensitivity pain. It's not right on the surface, thank God, or I'd have to walk around without a shirt on and I don't think my son would appreciate that .
I'm gonna read up on the supplements that Dr. Burrascano recommends. Then hopefully I can find a Dr. to help me soon.
Thanks
