Way too general a claim. "Other antibiotics" cover quite a few! And at what level or dosing are you comparing?
"Doxy" IS a pretty well-tolerated abx for Most (as long as you stay outa the sun and take probiotics between doses!)
Truthfully, everyone seems to have a different level for any particular abx that they can "tolerate" (i.e: w/o excessive side-effects).
The Trick seems to be finding which antibiotic(s) they can "take", for an extended course- At The ILADS-Recommended Levels for fighting Lyme disease.

- Any drug can stress the liver but doxy is pretty tame, compared to some others. Still, liver support can really help. Milk Thistle is the most common liver support.
No medicine is as toxic as untreated lyme, though.
It's not so much the abx as the borrelia toxins from the die-off (herxheimer reaction). WIth good management, your liver can be supported and the herx can be minimized.

This is included in Burrascano's Guidelines, but you may want to be able to refer to it separately, too:

It's very important to have this book as a reference tool for self-care and support measures. It answers so many questions in detail that is impossible here on the forum.
