Had a $250 deductible and then coverage of 65% out of network so they re-imbursed me almost $600 of the $1,118 Igenex bill. Thought this was good news for others concerned with the Igenex cost.

Surprised to hear this. They have covered just a fraction, tiny, for other people.

Yes, maybe it depends on the BCBS plan or region. I did get some reimbursement for Igenex costs, but certainly not 65%.

- That's excellent. As INEBG reminds us, it can vary from plan or region. In those states that do not "allow" lyme treatment, be especially careful in assumptions.
BCBS is not all one company, exactly. Each state, each region has independent ownership under an umbrella that can shift in the wind.
While it's just about half of the bill, I guess we should be encouraged with that. One tough call is never knowing in advance what will or won't be covered - for certain. -

Ditto for me.
My last test was over $325 and I was reimbursed almost $300. Doesn't appear they treat it as "out of network"
I also get 60% of the "allowed amount" of my LLMD visits reimbursed once I meet my "out of network" deductible.
How much you get reimbursed by Igenex or out of network providers is very dependent on your insurance carrier and your specific policy.
If your insurance doesn't cover out of network providers, and if you are employed, then I highly recommend taking advantage of a Flexible Spending Account if your employer offers one. The dollars are pre-tax and spread out over the full year. You can set aside a maximum of $5000 and you can use on any elligible medical / Prescription / over the counter charge.
