There is one woman in my support group who has as much problem as I have. This is not s simple
problem like drink more cranberry juice. It is most likely due to Bartonella colonizing the area.
My question is, even with clean catch, I get this message often when I feel ill
"Multiple organisms are present indicating probable contamination or
colonization not related to infection. Further work-up of these organisms may result in
clinically misleading information due to the low numbers and /or
mixture of organisms present." I get e coli and a type of pneumoniae infection which are presrent
usually in catheter patients. I never had a bladder infection until I had lyme. My thoughts
are there is plenty of inflammation due to Bart and this sets me up for infections that I would
either normally shake off or not be present. Anyone here on the boards know about lab
practices? Is this code for "there is something there, but we don't want to investigate further"?

D-Mannose is stellar if this is a recurrent thing for you. Never got a bladder infection from Bart but I drink lots of water daily and really watch my diet.

Bart and protomyxzoa both cause bladder irritation and frequent urination. Treatment got rid of mine - nothing else.

I tried mannose powder but did nothing for my infections, neither the length of the infection or severity so I think nefferdun has the right idea. i'm just going to the coast for a week and was hoping that the urologist would prescribe something. If they aren't looking for the right infection (Bart), they won't treat for it. The colonies are there, but the lab says they are "mixed".

NEFFERDUN, I'm sure you've said a bazillion times what you have taken for Bart and proto-m, can you repeat what herbs or drugs you've taken for them?

When mine said mixed flora my Urologist described it as mixed vaginal flora.
I get frequent UTI's but my immune system is so low that it doesn't notice and I get no symptoms. This led to sepsis.
I now have UTI test strips at home that I bought from AMazon.

D-mannose has done wonders for my bladder and urethra. By the way 3 different abx didn't touch it. D-mannose coats the bladder so bacteria run out.
This all started last fall when I did something so stupid. I tried to enjoy a jetted tub at a resort casino on our anniversay. I'm still kicking myself.
My BIG issue is the kidneys. I'm not sure if it's the same bacteria that attacked my urinary? Or did this new bacteria awaken the old bacteria like bart or lyme in the kidneys?
Using e-coli freqs with rife doesn't help. Lyme freqs didn't help last week, so I'm doing bart all this week.
I just need help so I can stay away from the doctors. Lax mom, sepsis....that's some serious bacteria. IVs?

Lymetoo, this is what I had. I wish there was something out there for when I when I get bladder sick every 4 weeks, but honestly, I gave it the good try and it didn't do anything. It is good for e-coli, but doesn;t impact things like klebsiella, so I don;t know if this is the problem or not. If twirling a rubber chicken over my head while reciting an Emily Dickinson poem backwards would make a difference in this infection, I would do it. I just wish it had worked for me, but it didn't.
