Check out the book "Healing Lyme" by Buhner. There is also another forum called Lymestrategies where patients are using alternatives such as salt/c, herbs. rife. collidal silver, ozone etc.

Hope this helps.

I started on antibiotics, but stopped in the middle of treatment and switched over to natural treatment. I went to Germany to use the Bionic 880, but some have done similar treatment here with the PE1. If you do a search, threads will come up on both treatments.

I am completely well today.

My kids started on abx and now are on Nutramedix herbs and a few other things. They are improving. The practitioner who is helping us cured her lyme/coinfections/viruses with herbs and homeopathics alone.

There are a lot of herbal options.

Check out the website http://www.spirochicks.com. One of the writers for the site, I believe it was Alix, is only using alternatives, no antibiotics.

She is seeing an LLMD that is knowledgable about herbals also (they are hard to find, in my opinion), and she told him she only wants to use non-drug approaches, so he is guiding her in that. So far she seems to be doing better, but not fully healed.

Buhner's book "Healing Lyme" is a good place to start on how to treat Lyme without antibiotics.

If the body is not able to process certain meds, this is something to consider:

PORPHYRIA

===================================

One particular herbal protocol was VERY good for me and I saw success for the couple of months - two different times. But I could not continue due to costs that are fair, indeed, just out of reach.

I do know of a couple people who reached a good remission with the allicin protocol that I did so well with as long as I could be on it. It all takes time and it's still a multi-faceted approach that works best. Some do incorporate abx some of the time.

I've talked with a couple people who got better with rife.

It's vital to have a LL ND, if at all possible.

For comparison:

==================================

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/13964?

Topic: How to find a LL ND (naturopathic doctor), acupuncturist, etc.

Includes how to find an ILADS-educated LL ND, an Acupuncturist, a doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.), or a doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine (D.Ay.), certified herbalists or nutritionists, etc.

Includes many articles and books on complementary / integrative methods - & RIFE links.

BODY WORK links are also included.

We have never used any traditional treatments, since we could never get a solid diagnosis.

We used some natural antibiotics, and they did help for a time, but did not turn out to be a long term solution.

We also tried MMS but stomach problems put an end to that.

The last three years have been strictly Rife frequency treatments. No cure, but functionally, my wife is normal, and symptoms are reduced to nothing with regular treatment.

It is very hard to cure, but I guess I am happy with being able to control it to this degree.

Maybe I will get to a cure, but that is speculation at this point.

Not a perfect treatment, but one that can be used long term. I do not know many that can be used indefinitely.
