FINALLY got hubby to get tested for Lyme, Bartonella, etc. I made him a list to take to his urologist............

He doesn't have a "regular" doctor (typical man!) You would THINK he would since he's a 2-time cancer survivor!

Colon cancer in '93 at age 36, prostate cancer in '01 at age 42. No family hx of either one.

Luckily, he was able to have surgery only for both cancers. No chemo or anything else.

Right now, we are BOTH IgM+ for Band 23. He has no other bands that are positive. I'm also IgG+ for Band 41 and 18 right now.

I'm having all kinds of "What the hell? These are totally unnecessary & bizarre additional health problems!" right now. I LIVE at the Med. Center!

We're both positive for HHV-6 as well, and we're both lighting up positive for EBV. He's not positive for CMV or any other viruses I have or had.

Don't you think it's strange that we're both positive for the same band at the same time? The labs were both drawn at LabCorp about 3 weeks apart.

This was his 1st time to be tested. What would your next step be? IGeneX? Abx and or Anti-virals?

My head is spinning right now!!!!! Now I'm worried about our 15 year old and if he may have it.

I would say THEY are both asymptomatic right now, but the fact that my husband had those 2 cancers at such a young age w/no family hx makes me wonder about all kinds of things.

I think we both need to be tested for XMRV as soon as possible. The correlation between Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction & Prostate Cancer being directly related to the XMRV virus just makes me go "duh!" in our case. (I've had CFIDS for years......)

Any thoughts? Any questions? I happen to be seeing my Immunologist tomorrow. Great timing!

Thanks for any advice!

I know of one other couple here in which both had the same bands. Not sure if it means anything.

I'm so sorry that he is ill too.
