Hi folks:

Just looking for some guidance. Feeling frustrated and feel like I'm chasing ghosts. In August I thought I was almost done. I felt pretty good. But then I started going after Bart and i am not doing as well. Is that a good sign?

One of the symptoms I now have back is stomach symptoms. I've had GERD since 2006 and have been on Nexium ever since. In March of this year, before my lyme dx and after I crashed in Feb, I had an upper GI where they found gastritis. I also had periods of nausea, etc.

When I started treatment in May with Doxy / Flagyl and then Biaxin / Amantadine / Flagyl all of the GI symptoms went away. They have been away for months.

But this past month they have returned, particularly after I stopped Rifampin 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to figure out of it is due to Bart, or is it yeast / Candidia?

I don't really feel bloated. Just more of a nausea / yuck feeling in general with a touch of heartburn.

I'm on a ton of antifungals. I take 2 Nystatin 2x / day. Also on Oil of Oregano capsules, Grapefruit Seed Extract Capsules, and Olive Leaf Extract capsules. I take 1 Theralac and 4 PB-8 probiotics / day.

I'd feel better if I knew this was lyme or bart, but worry it is yeast. I have no / little thrush / bloating.

Other symptoms...ear fullness, tinnitus, calf twitching, intermitted left foot pain.

Your thoughts?

Sorry I'm being so needy right now. I just have treatment "fatigue". Yeah...I know it's only been 6 months. Just want to be 100% again. [Frown]

Hey- I am not sure what your symptoms are due to.. I will leave that to a more expert member of the group. However, I wanted to tell you that I also have GI symptoms.

They are actually one of my worst symptoms. My endo showed gastritis too, CT scan showed mesenterities and colonoscopy showed some random spots of inflammation throughout intestines. I have read that both gastritis and lower GI pain (mesenteritis etc) can be Bart.

I have not yet been treated for Bart so I dont know. My Lyme treatment to date has not been successful. In fact my stomach is so reactive to the meds I have a really hard time with them.

I have bad nausea and GI pain. For nausea I have been given zofran, phenergan, compezine, and one other I cant remember. The best for me is Zofran because the other two make me VERY tired so can't be taken during the day.

I have yet to find something that helps with the pain. I look forward to reading others answers on this post.

Thanks.

Anyone know if yeast / Candidia can cause nausea and / or reflux?

I had reflux, nausea, constant diarrhea, severe pain when I ate, lack of appetite, etc.

Have you treated parasites? Oregano does treat them, but have you cycled in other things? Enula might be helpful, it gets to roundworms.

I also found that I did not have too much stomach acid, rather I felt better if I took HCL when I ate. I still take it if I eat a harder to digest meal.

Humaworm is a good product, too.

Also, Dr. Natura was a GREAT product for me on many levels. It seemed to clean the gunk out of my gut (my second round of it months later did not have the same results, so the cleaning out is real and is not just the fiber you're taking). I also had so much more energy after Dr. Natura.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things.

I also could use some help with this.

I have been having severe stomach issues: no appetite, nausea, stomach cramping, and indigestion.

I keep treating for yeast, tried Nystatin, Diflucan, and Intraconazozle.

The last one helped the most, but every time I stop the symptoms come back.

I am on a VERY restricted diet... losing a lot of weight, and it is getting alarming.

THe Probiotics I am using are PerQue:Digest Guard Forte 10 and Klaire Labs Ther-biotic Complete. Are these good probiotics?

What is HCL?

And where to I get the supplement capsules that are mentioned in the first post?

I get all of my supplements from a health food store.

HCL is hydrochloric acid in a supplement form. Your stomach uses HCL to digest food and many of us don't produce enough, which causes these symptoms.

six, are you saying lack of HCL could cause severe GI pain?? Is there some sort of test to check how much HCL you naturally have? Thanks

I don't know if there's a test, but yes, when I would have severe GI pain the HCL would make it go away. Some things (like raw veggies or a meal that has a lot of different stuff in it - think Thanksgiving) still will cause me to have pain, so I take HCL when I eat those kinds of food.

sjo, I wonder if it's the Lyme directly, or the abx causing a herx, and not the yeast? If you're on a strict diet, and being treated for yeast, then I'd think your symptoms would have gone away.

I get sick to my stomach pretty bad when I'm working through a herx from the abx. Just a thought.

Reflux for sure... and I think nausea too. Look here:

I can tell a difference in my acid reflux when the yeast is under control.

I would suggest dumping the PB8 and doubling the Theralac. Maybe add in some VSL#3 for good measure.

A chiropractor once told me that if you take apple cider vinegar and you feel worse, you have too much acid. If you feel better, you don't have enough.

Also... I bought Seagate olive leaf extract on someone's recommendation and the die-off is pretty strong!

They have a two for one sale right now.

I have had terrible GI problems, no appetite, nausea, pain in the upper right quadrant. DId all sorts of tests..until we did the Ingenex test , positive on four bands. My primary doctor started my on Doxy 2x day but it makes me so nauseous I am also on phenergan. The pain is better but the nausea is worse.
I am doing magnesium baths they seem to help.
I would love to know what homeo products have worked. Right now doing digestive enzymes, glutalemine, floramore, vit d3, a quick dissolve vit c, omega 3, Use fluconozale 2x a week to avoid fungal yeast problems, But exhausted and nauseous too.

My son through up and doubled over for the first two months... until we found the diet that is gluten and sugar free. Things got better. By that time, he had already lost 15 pounds and for such a little guy... it was scary.

I started making him eggnog once a day (2 eggs, heavy cream, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg) in an attempt to fatten him up. Then we noticed... he didn't feel good after an eggnog. He didn't feel good after a bowl of gluten free cereal. IT WAS THE MILK.

Now, on an even more restricted diet. His stomach problems are gone. (unless he eats something he's not supposed to)

It's not easy learning to find things he can eat! Shopping takes forever because I read every label... it's even harder for him. But he doesn't cheat very often because he knows what he feels like after!

Today I made him hot chocolate with almond milk, unsweetened cocoa and stevia. He looked like it was Christmas morning... kept saying - this is good... this is good.

[Smile]

I hope you find the right diet / supplements to help your tummy feel better. Being sick isn't fun!
