My practitioner thinks one of my 6 year old boys has a weakened blood-brain barrier, probably due in part to high EMF exposure where he slept as a baby.

Electrodermal screening yesterday showed he was recently infected with 3 new viruses. His coinfections were gone and his lyme was almost gone. However, his OCD and behavior have been terrible and she thinks that these viruses went straight to his brain and that perhaps his blood/brain barrier is not intact.

Does anyone know whether the blood brain barrier can be repaired if this is indeed the case?

Thanks,

tickbattler

I think this "practitioner" is full of hoot.
Just my opinion.

The 'blood-brain barrier' is inherent in our system. It doesn't get "damaged".

And "high EMF exposure", previous or present, is not going to affect the ability (good or poor) of any compounds present in the blood to "get into" the brain tissues. That's a molecular thing.

BTW, how the heck is "electrodermal screening" able to tell if 2 vs. 3 vs. 4 "new" viruses were picked up. That, by itself, should be enough to tell you it's hokum.

Bottom line- You need a 2nd professional opinion.

Kete,

What is your basis for determining that the blood brain barrier cannot be damaged? Why don't you listen to Dr. K's talk on EMF's posted on another thread and then let me know what you think. This is the highly respected LLMD in WA that I am talking about.

Next, I would recommend reading the numerous threads here on EDS and doing some research on this as well. I've been deeply entrenched in the lyme nightmare for 4 years now, researching every day for my sick family of 5. You should know that to win this battle you need to look at everything, including alternative treatment methodologies. EDS has helped guide treatment more than ANYTHING.

Frankly, I tend to take what you say with a grain of salt because you clearly haven't researched your opinions.

CDP-choline (citicoline) repairs the BBB. I've had good results with it, it's one of my favourite supplements.

Here's a good neurotalk thread on repairing the BBB:

Kete, "I think this "practitioner" is full of hoot.

So glad it's only your opinion. EMF and metals are very closely related. Think physics.

Battler, The blood brain barrier is not fully
developed until a child is 18 months old. Learned this years ago from Dr. K.
And through exposure, most of our bbb are not what they need to be. Yes, it can be repaired.

Do some googling "klinghardt plus your concernand you will find many answers. Google "Derksen Klinghardt plus viral infections etc with her name. They both treat many children. Children often are born with mother's toxins. Mine were and of course they still gathered their own as they grew up. Lyme infection and abx is not the answer to all.

Metal toxicity, electromagnetic exposure, and viruses are usually part of the total picture.
None can be answered in a few words here. Google.

Keep an open mind and search. Best to you.

I have to agree with tick battler...in fact, I think spirochetes would be virtually harmless if it weren't for these exposures...
